I honestly am not sure how I would answer the question myself. I would like to think that I had the kahones to take option six but you don't get a decoder ring, and secret handshake. Perhaps if I was given a week to decide then I would do 6, if not would probably pick 1.

So before my brain wanderes off in a different direction would love to know what other people think.

Regarding No. 1, it's more a matter of paying your dues. (Currently $100 per quarter.) No people in dark suits. Just a package in the mail with the monthly monographs and, perhaps an initiation in a temple, lodge, or pronaos here and there. If you want to attend the World Peace Conference or be initiated in the Pyramid at Giza that will cost extra. (Recommended, however.)

Regarding the Masonic handshakes ... I wouldn't worry. You could probably find those on the Internet with a good google search. But, if you're attending lodge in Freemason's Hall in London make sure you bring your tie and white gloves. (I forgot those, myself once, and had to borrow a tie.) By the way, the movie From Hell, while entertaining, is not in any way accurate. The Grand Lodge of England, located on Great Queen Street, is not underground. You don't really need to hide below ground when the King himself regularly attends lodge and the royal family is a primary patron.

Of course, that royal patronage causes some people to flip out in Schizophrenic episodes as if it were proof of a vast conspiracy of the Elite. Yawn. Sadly, they need to visit the Masonic Lodge in the U.S. and see that the only thing in danger of being leaked from a lodge in the U.S. are the contents of the Depends diapers of its elderly members. Sadly, the fraternity that founded the U.S. is sorely lacking in membership these days. People are too busy. And, by the way, most Masons would be entirely clueless about anything occult. They're good-ol'-boys who fought in World War II and Korea, but just don't waste your time trying to discuss the subtleties of the Western Mystery Tradition with them. Not gonna happen. Clueless.

If you want to find the more esoteric forms of Masonry your time would be better served researching groups like the Rectified Scottish Rite, the Memphis Rite, the Knights of the Elus Cohens, or the Martinist Order. Usually they're more sophisticated and will be better informed about esoterica than the "average" Mason.

Oh well, back to your regularly scheduled paranoid conversation ... blink.gif

sounds like a good story

can you back it up ?
Rosencruez
Back it up? Uh ... I'm not sure I could ever satisfy your curiosity completely. I don't really have anything to prove ... other than the fact that the histrionics about the Illuminati are unwarranted. But I have no illusions; I'm constantly amazed with how tenaciously people cling to Illuminati and Masonic "NWO" conspiracy theories!

I'm just speaking from experience here, from memory. After all, all true learning is remembering what you already know.

you have nothing to prove ?

then why your big post on your own thread ?

seems like youre just an attention seeker who likes to write tall tales

none of the above. I doubt I'd be intimidated by some MIB. I've seen both films, neither that impressive or frightening. happy.gif

Yep, this is all about boosting my highly fragile ego by attention seeking and beating up on the ill-informed.

Let's just say that I get annoyed with all the misinformation out there and so I kind of have a personal mission to do my part to clarify the fog. You'd do the same thing if you constantly heard asinine things said about something you care about.

Really though, in the age of google, most everything I said, aside from my personal experiences, can be verified in a few seconds ... if you know what to look for. But then, why let actual "source material" rain on the parade of a good fiction story?
