Hi - I'm new to this board but I was just wondering if anyone is still interested in Borley Rectory? My father lived there once - just for a couple of years - and he used to tell me amazing stories of his experiences there - even though he was fairly sceptical, there was lots he couldn't explain. Anyway I was just wondering if Borley is still considered a haunted area or whether the interest has died... I visited there a few years ago, and I felt that it was quite an eerie area, especially the church...

I'd love to hear more about his experiences. I've always been interested in Borley, since I was small thumbsup.gif

Hear! Hear! I think anybody who is aquainted with the history of psychic research would be interested in more information about Borley. I certainly would. I'm glad we now have a new member to add to the merry, planetwide throng. LONECAT

Happy reading thumbsup.gif

Very beguiling debunk-job on the whole tawdry business

HERE
Bebi
happy.gif was waiting for a debunk post.

Personally I feel there was something but I agree that the phenomena escalated while Price was there. The big question is was Price a hoaxer or was he genuine and whatever was there grew in intensity to try and drive him away?

I'm not here to tell people what they should or shouldn't believe, I'll let them make their own minds up. We need to see both sides of the story to do just that thumbsup.gif thanks for the site Aslan.

Hey,

What happened with Leonie? I wanted to hear some of these stories.....

You know, this seems to be the theme for this forum lately...... Get us all hyped to hear about something, then leave us dangling...... wink2.gif

Seriously, we wanna hear.... grin2.gif

I would also love to hear the stories. I have always had a deep interest in the place and was lucky to have gotten to go through the www.borleyrectory.com web site before it was taken down. I even wrote an article about it for a friends site.
Bebi
Rayce, do you know why the site was taken down?
Ghost_Seer

I thought that the actual rectory burned down some time ago. Perhaps the church is still there. I would love to hear more about it. I am sure the land is still haunted.

Bebi. I'm not really sure. Either the site owner died or her mother did. The site was run by the adopted daughter of Marianne Foyster. That's why the person had scans to all the documents and correspondence regarding the investigation of the rectory. Either she died or Marianne Foyster died. I believe the photo on the page now is of Marianne though.

Ghost Seer: If you read my article you will learn all about that. It's linked in my above post. The rectory did burn down and the church is still there. Word is that the hauntings have moved to the church but not to the degree of what happened at the rectory.

I've been there a couple of times, I would like some more info or stories! yes.gif

Sorry everyone - I didn't mean to leave you 'hanging'. I've been away, then I got the flu. I'm still sorta recovering. Watch this space - I'll try to post a few of Dad's stories this week or next. There are some good ones (though I suspect many of them have appeared in various memoirs/histories relating to the Rectory. Meantime did you all see the Harry Price website? Sadly the 'official' Borley one has died a death - Vince O'Neil took it down quite suddenly - not sure why... xxx Leonie

Thanks Leonie,I look forward to hearing your stories.I did a lot of reading and research on the subject and noticed that the whole Rectory thing(Prive's arrival and afterwards)is believed to be hoax by many(for ex.the mysterious writings on the wall which were supposedly proven to be written by the little kid of the family who lived in the Rectory at the time - not to mention the infamous floating brick prank),while it's thought that the happening at the Church is the real thing.I certainly would like to visit the place someday.

I believe the site was run by and ultimately taken down by Vincent O Neill - Marianne's son.

The picture on the site now is indeed Marianne, who died in 1992.
