please for this thread let's all assume aliens exist and they are visiting earth

(there are plenty of threads to debate that, no need to do it here)

my question is

if aliens, for whatever reason, decided to immagrate to earth, could we handle it and accept them ?

would they be dicriminated against ?

please let's also assume they take a completely peaceful approach to this

i just wonder how it would be recieved

would we have a new spark to racism ?

It depends on how different they are from us. If they look like us we will be able to except them easier

I guess we have no choice but to accept them... IF THEY ARE COMMING

You guys, aliens haven't even been proven to exist why are you even talking about it.....Lol just kidding ... I would be able to handle it like nothing, seriously. I'm the kind of person, you could tell me that the world was an illusion and I was the only real thing, and I'd be like: "cool"...

If aliens were visiting, it would be generations before we were "living together", if that were even possible. I don't think you get how necessarily different two unrelated forms of life would be.

And I don't think ANY of us know the anatomy of aliens to be specualting on whether or not they could exist with us. This was a thread started for a hypothetical purpose, let's just keep it that way...

They will probably be accepted into society, but the government would probably want somethin in return from them (technology?) I really wouldn't care if they moved in cause it will be cool to have alien friends.

With all the fear we'd have no choice but to accept them. Who knows, if we don't they might shoot us or liquify us or something like that

I think that it would be quite difficult for us to co-exist. I mean there is sure to be some sort of religious uprising claiming that these aliens are demons of sorts (that's assuming that the aliens do not have religion or religious fanatics themselves).

Also would they be able to keep to our laws? What if they practiced sacrifices? It may be perfectly acceptable in their culture but not so in ours.

I would rent my basement out to a couple of aliens and party hardy haha

That would have too many countries fighting over who is going to give up the land. I mean the majority of countries would not give up any land freely unless they get something in return, but the aliens would have superior technology which could play a part.

Of course if they can get to earth then they must have far more powerful weapons so they would just take it

Personally, I would be cautiously friendly toward them.....if and only if, they were friendly as well. But I think large masses of people would likely place them on a pedestal of sorts and treat them as though they were gods. There is already a "religion" concerning aliens. The scary thing is, if enough people reacted to aliens in such a way it would go a long way toward enabling the aliens to take over this planet.

I would have to disagree. If an alien species were to come here and ask for residence, it would most likely be because they have no where else to go. I would regard them as very intellegant but not as gods.

I do agree that ya we would need to be cautious, but the threat would be minimal, unless they to, have a hidden agenda as we would in accepting them.

I wouldn't regard them as gods either, but humans do have a tendency to want to put even other humans up on a pedestal. Take for instance, the way people react to a visit from the Pope. People cry and fall on their knees for a mere mortal. Consider how some fans react to some pop stars or movie stars. We are a species that seems, on the whole, to enjoy idolizing someone or something. I can see throngs of people reacting to aliens in the same way, all over the world.

I see your point, I think at first we would totally be in awe of them and regard them as superior,but I think it would wear off. Just as religion it's self is slowing in popularity.

firs nowone will belive that they have realy come. second some guys will start to make a panick
goverment will protect them whit saying :no problem they are good guys .whit some years they can become a part of our sociality. ( i wrote like that i will kow what will happend )

I think also from what I've read that there are over 170 different alien species that have or or visiting earth. Some "types" are not so chummy from what I've read. Some have certain "motives" , and others here to help? (nothing could help this planet.. we can't even help ourselves! LOL)
