Full Version: Post your countries best fighting technology!

Well just curious as to what kind of research programs other countries might be doing that might neccessarily be on the radar with everyone.
I know some weapons that the US military might use in a WW3 type scenario would be X-15 style fighter planes, Maybe the existance of the aurora plane would be proven. Funny thing about the x-15 is that it was last test flown in 1968. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-15
I would assume that the technology has grown significately since then. Imagine if our technology has increased at the same speed that it did in the first half of the 20th century. If it has, then you can be we have an ace or two up our sleeves.

Also I remember an article on Um a while back, talking about a gun that shot Ball Bearings at something like 100,000 bearings per minute, faster then the speed of sound, without making a blast noise.

I remember that (I posted it tongue.gif ) so sweet of a gun.

Well... the US' best fighting technology hands down... nuclear weapons. tongue.gif

For tracking and killing, I'd have to say that new Navy computer... I can't remember what's it called but it can track over a 100 targets at a time and over long distance.

Also, our satellites are a big part of the military today. Providing up-to-date news on the enemy and troop movements to better move against and around forces.

For the USA - ICBMs, no question. Kill the whole planet by pressing a button. If the question is about a single weapon, that would be a nuclear sub. Lurk deep in the ocean for a year or two until you get the signal, then move near the coast of the victim, program in the targets and let fly your nukes. Ouch! You don't even have to surface and risk being detected in the few minutes it takes to launch all your birds. After you've launched, you're open to retaliation but the nukes will still reach their targets.

If the plan is that you survive your own attack, that's a different story. Nukes are out in that case.

I was just about to post about nuclear submarines!
They are by far the most fearsome technology yet created by man. A typical "Boomer" will carry a complement of 192 warheads atop 24 missiles (MIRVs)

If it were not for the humans on board, these ships could stay out at sea for 20-25 years.

BTW, I live in Groton, CT where most of these beasties are made.

Has anyone else noticed that the emoticons are not working?
Or am I the one that is broken?

Skynet's decoy virus must be programmed to wipe out emoticons first. When the humans panick and engage skynet to get their emoticons back, the terminators will be unleashed.

Canada is doing research in converting an Armoured Recce vehical (Coyote Recce) into a LAV-III type vehical. Basicly it will have the agility and fighting power of an IFV and a really good sensors of the Coyote, with out all the clumbsy stuff the Coyote currently has. Making it one of if not the most advanced Infantry Fighting Vehical in the world.

seriously though, canada usually isn't too heavily interested in fighting technologies...we're lovers...not fighters wink2.gif

Here in Spambodia, the only weapons we have are extremely bad breath, and an elite unit of soldiers who can spit on an enemy from a distance of 10 meters.

Our defense capability is much more advanced. The study of our indigenous animals has led us to pattern our defense after one such species - by digging holes and putting our heads into the ground, as ostriches have successfully done for centuries. This is the ideal method of defending oneself during attack. Also effective, if possible, is to hide oneself behind a very fat person or two. We have over 60 McDonald's restaurants in Spambodia, and if attacked, you can always find somebody to use as your "shield of armor" at these locations.

I feel very safe and blessed to live in a nation such as mine.

A video about the Invisible Machine- Electromagnetic Warfare.
Using microwaves to make the humans burn just a little enough to stop them from coming any closer or by making them get to their knees. Using Smart EM Bombs to shut down every electronic device in a city or any other Electronic Jungle. Also just plain Smart bombs and lasers that can shoot down missles.

Wow that was an interesting video. Sorta puts your mind further out there. Also part of the video where they said that the "E Bomb would have been used in a Tomahawk cruise missile" which is purported to have been used in Baghdad during the capture of Saddam.

Anyway as far as Canadian Technological Warfare. I'd also put my thumbs up to Celine Dion and Tim Hortons Coffee. You wouldn't want a hot coffee thrown at your face would you? Especially with Celine Dion singing to you. rofl.gif laugh.gif
