This isn't very interesting and may be nothing. Just wondering what other people think. My dad died in his sleep months ago in his bedroom. Now the bedroom is my 7 year old twins room. They say the feel "weird in there" and dont like to sleep in it. One of them said she "saw papol turning their light off" She has always had a great imagination. Do you think kids are mores sensative to spirits or are they just being kids who dont like bedtime? They have never really complained about staying in their bedroom before in other houses.

this may be true, seeing as twins are found to have "special" powers more often than others. btw welcome to the forum! original.gif

I for one believe kids are more sensitive to seeing things we cant see. When I was a little kid I always remember seeing things in my dark bedroom even when it was sunny outside. I would see what appeared to be shadow people and more shadowy movements creeping along the walls of the room.

A friend of mine said when he was about 5-7 years old he used to hear little children ( a boy and girl ) talking to him only when he was near the clothing washer and dryer room. He said they would talk to him and ask him how was his day etc. and he would not be afraid. However, as he grew a couple of years older he couldnt hear them talking to him anymore.

Welcome to the forum. original.gif If your twins knew their grandfather died in that room that is now theirs, it could very well be their overactive imaginations. I'd be scared at that age knowing grandpa died in that room. As a matter of fact, when I was 16 my grandmother died at her house. My family and I were going to see her before she died (long 8 hour trip). Needless to say, we didn't make it in time to say goodbye. I had to sleep in that house knowing my grandma died there just hours before. Creeped me out. However, I feel that some, not all children, can be more sensitive than others in sensing spirits. I'd have to weigh towards the fact that if they knew he died in there months before, they're probably just creeped out by it and if that's the case, change bedrooms with them so they can sleep more easily. Take care and again, welcome to the forums. original.gif

Sometimes its hard to tell the difference with children. My son told me just recently thay he saw demons outside his window and that the white lights kept them from coming in.
I found it odd that i had seen orbs of light in the bathroom prior to that and never told him.

Also sometimes children with see something that may not be that particular thing but relate it to what they know. If the presence is bothersome I know of a few things that my friend did to allieviate the situation. She saged her house and also spread salt water and kept it in the room that was experiencing the problem. Of course as a matter of humor if i would have known that I would have seen if it would work on the in-laws. grin2.gif

One question...were the children very close to him while he was living?

Oh yes, children are more sensitive, and have a a more open mind, thats why they are able to see spirits.

I agree.

For one (this is my theory), they haven't been exposed to the world as long as some adults have, so their eyes aren't as worn as some people's.

I am a teen, and my eyesight is actually really good. This and the fact that I am pretty childish could be the reason I experience so much.

If it's not possible to change rooms over maybe you could explain to them that their grandfather never hurt them in life so he won't hurt them in death.
ladygrim
i'd change rooms just to see if they do manage to sleep in another room or not

here is my good solem advice from a 38 year old . and just from my own experiences with this situation,. if you believe unseen forces are all around the planet and some are knocking at the door....some just stare at us and we dont even know it one of them is a manifestation of death . life is another both good and bad ko exhisting fighting the forces of good evil and every other two sided opposition a tiltle can allure. the devil is in the details they say so i wouldnt be surprised if he could make a person believe they saw a dead persons so called spirit ,..when you think about it didnt the devil manipulate eve with the masterfulness of a serpent . trickery he uses and i dont think your twin are very comfortable even if this wasnt happening.
either way if you believe in any good god as most i would hope all of you as a family should pray for holy spirit to protect you . this might be a wonderful way for establishing closure and remembering you dad in a way he would want ,. remembering him when he was living memories for your children to have and they might be unafraid of death and all its questions. it might empower them to have a say so when it comes to claiming there independence from evil away from negative forces in the future. if anything wait then and see what happens then decide if they should change rooms or whatever you feel is the right thing to do. remember they are your kids and you have the say so no matter what , if they are smart they just might be wanting you to sleep with them and find it a great way to manipulate the situation themselves. lol talk to them and see maybe they are just not able to cope with the loss? you must not overlook all the spritism on the television to,....its all over in a bad way so they might be a little confused to . maybe?
i wish your family well good luck let me know how this turns out for you,. all i can do is state my opinion and advice

Children do seem to exhibit the ability of spirit sight more so then adults. Twins it seems, have a higher ability. I would let them know that your fathers spirit won't try to hurt them, as well as changing rooms as both were allready mentioned. But I would do whatever to make them feel comfortable with what was seen and not "spook" them out.

The bible states that ghosts are real.

I Samuel 28:15, where Saul has a medium, "call up" the prophet Samuel from the other side of the grave:

"And Samuel saith to Saul, Why hast thou troubled me, to bring me up?"

Some christians will bury their heads and come up with an excuse for this scripture that God allowed this for one occasion. Some fundamentalists may say that this wasn't Samuel at all, but a deception from the woman - a trick. Yet, the scripture is very clear that this was Samuel; and as Samuel had died and crossed over to the other side...that would make him a spirit or ghost.

However, daylight group sightings would be the best to go by, and there is one.
These ghosts were seen by a group of people.

"and there appeared to them, Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus."

Since the bible states quite clearly that Moses had died, these would have to be ghosts that were seen talking to Jesus.

Kids do seem to be able to see more ghosts. I saw one when I was 7 and another person I know saw one also. I kept seeing them and now im stuck with a house full of stuff that makes me afraid to turn my head. Try to switch rooms would be a good idea.

When I was a child there was one room in my house that I just could not sleep in. Of course this was the room my parents chose to turn in to a large fantastic bedroom for me. I loved the idea but try as I might I could never bring myself to sleep in it.

I tried to explain to my mother that it was the energy in the room but she just couldn't understand me. Every time I would try to sleep there I would end up waiting till the rest of the house was asleep and creep up into my old bed with my sister. Eventually she and I traded rooms. I was like 12 at the time.

Today I'm 40 and you know what? I still cannot sleep in that room due to the energy I feel there. A few years back I stayed with my parents for a while and had to sleep on a couch in another room.

Some people can feel things that others can't. If at all possible please change the children's room.

I would't be the list bit suprised that they indeed, (due to the twins' ages) may sense/see/feel more...much, much more than us as adults do. I would give thought to changing the room to be sure..Please do post progress/changes, if any..

Yeh spirits often show themselves clearly to children. This spirit is your father though so im sure he means no harm. Spirits watch over us im sure that’s all.

Thank you all for the advise and opinions. Yes they were close to him and he was a nice person. I try to tell them its their grandpa and not to be afraid of him. Not saying that anything is going on but if so, it is just him.
Funny thing is I grew up in this house and they could switch me and their dad rooms but I grew up in this house too and the rooom I am in was the one that always scared everyone! Two other family members have died in this house, my grandfather and great grandmother. I was 9 when my grandfather died and not born yet when my great grandmother died. I dont remember being scared to be in the room where he died. I had the room he died in as a kid. I never thought anything about it but maybe it does scare my kids. Its funny, things did scare me around the house but I never thought about him dying in my room. Maybe that is all that is bothering them. I just feel bad about it!

I had experienced a lot of phenomena around my home until I was around 15 years old. Now days I just catch a glimpse of spirits and such. I have always believed that children are much more open minded and susceptible in sensing what adults can’t.
newbloodmoon
I still glimpse from time to time spirits myself. On occasion I see something full on, they are not always the most pleasent. In fact a few years back I seen the bloodie ghost of a female where I worked. I did some research and I found out through seeing a picture of the girl in life that she was brutally raped and murderd some years back near the area. Which made alot of sense why I felt a general mallovence towards me as I am male.

I believe that your dad is coming back to watch over everyone, and as I had said before there shouldn't be anything to be afraid of.
