I can't wait for this movie, it looks so awesome! I am so hyped for this movie, more than any other, even POTC 2... If I had to pick one movie to see in the whole of 2006, it would be X3.

Now I liked X1 and X2 but I always felt that they were missing something, they never quite hit the mark but even after I saw the teaser trailer I knew that Brett Ratner, who I always had faith in, had hit it and succeeded where Bryan Singer failed.

He's kept the realistic tones that Bryan Singer set but has added his own touch to it without taking away from what Singer did. Of course, been a fan of the comics in the first place has helped. I also think that when Singer took the writers with him to do Superman and they got in new writers, i think this was a blessing. The storyline for X3, while similar to the previous (a cure) they have expanded it, brought in new characters, given other characters more space, used the comics history, done something a bit more 'epic' and basically created something you might find in one of the comics.

Beast, who based on looks I had reservations about at first, looks pretty good. Kelsey Grammer is perfect to play him. Angel looks wicked and seeing him fly for the first time is a 'gives you goosepimples' type of moment. Vinnie Jones as Juggernaut, not the best casting but will do and I think he will pleasantly surprise people.. His muscle suit, at first didn't look that great but after seeing him in motion, crashing through the walls I think he's been done alright. And it's good to see Colossus getting more screen and fight time too..

Shame Halle is still Storm but its good to see the character have more stuff to do. Hugh Jackman is Wolverine, nuff said. Ian McKellon is great as Magneto, he really gives him that epic dictator vibe.

Just everything about it looks awesome.. Brett has made it feel more like a comic book but not in a campy way but also has kept it realistic but made it more epic feeling too... He's also brought us what Singer didn't give us and thats more comic book action... Juggy crashing through walls, Pyro with his wrist mounted flame thrower, there's gonna be an Iceman vs. Pyro confrontation, The Mentle battle between Prof X and Phoenix, The Fastball Special and Wolverine been more Wolverine... oh boy, I can't wait..

I completely agree, with your whole statement. Up to seeing that trailer, i had some doubts, some reservations. Nic-picks i suppose. But i'm really sold, it's going to be fantastic.

I don't have a time for it but it comes near the end of the trailer. When Wolverine is talking to Jean and he's saying "Look at me Jean, we can't you, we can fix it, we can make it like it was.. Stay with me" right after he says "Stay with me" it shows a quick flash of Jean crying and then it shows Wolverine flying through the air, from left to right, with his claws out and that my friend is the fastball special.

It is also in the teaser trailer at about 1 minute 18 seconds and is much clearer. This time he is flying from right to left and if you slow it down and look in the lower right hand corner you can see Colossus standing, looking like he's just thrown him.

There has been many rumours regarding Sentinels in X3. As we all know the Fastball Special was one way of taking out Sentinels, with Wolverine flying up to the Sentinels head and ripping through it and both times we see the Fastball Special (though it could just be the one time and the image flipped) he is flying to something high up. There is also a scene in the teaser of Storm flying (or coming down to land) and there is pinky/purple lasers flying past her - the colour of Sentinel lasers. There is also a scene of a large container with some writing on that crashes down on a car, some people have theorised that this will be digitally changed to a Sentinels foot or head. Bill Duke, who is actor who says "Well then you know what needs to be done" to the president at the begining of the film is playing Bolivar Trask, who is the creator of the Sentinels...

Some people think there won't be Sentinels, some people do. Some people think there will be several and some people think there will only be one. Theorys include the idea of a Sentinel been used in the Danger Room (which is a sequence in the movie involving some of the X-Men, erm Iceman is know is one), Another theory is that the humans will unleash the Sentinels on the Mutants after Magneto helps them all escape Alcatraz and another theory is that there could be on at the end of the film either in action or in production, as a kind of cliff hanger/teaser for a future movie.

I think there will be Sentinels. It fits in with the whole war and cure and control of mutants theme the movie has going on. There will definately be at least one, probably only one considering how much there actually is going to be in the movie.

Colossus looked WAAY better in X2. It's really obvious that he's wearing some plates, and his face looks incredibly stiff. IMO, they should have waited for Bryan Singer to return from directing the Superman movie. There would have been more hype and everything since the wait would be longer. I hope this is the last movie.

Oooo! Just watched the trailer! Makes me want to see it even more I can't wait till it comes out in cinemas

He doesn't look that bad, in fact, in the still 'bio' type photo there is of him floating around, imo he looks better than he did in X2. His features do seem a bit stiff though but it may be different once we see him properly in motion. He probably has a suit for most of the basic kind of scenes (walking etc) and then for other scenes they'll probably digitally enhance it or do it with CGI. His role in the movie has increased from X2 and he will be in soem of the big action sequences so to do him all CGI all the time would have cost a lot too...

Fox couldn't wait for Singer, they had the release date locked in and had to get the movie out for that date. That's why the movie was rushed into production, to get it out in time and also why people were hesitant over Ratner - could he do it justice with just 6 months to do everything but he has been able to. I'm glad they didn't wait for Singer.. We would have got something completely different, though I'm sure it would have been good. I think it needed a shot in the arm as it were, a new style.. Singer failed for give it a comic-y style (imo) I mean in both movies he missed out on one of the biggest and best things you could do in an X-Men movie - A big Team battle!

Ok, so it was slightly cheesy and I would have hoped to have seen more from a Sentinel than that (who knows, maybe we will) but considering budgetery reasons and so forth, atleast we got one in but that was pretty fricking sweet. Colossus looked pretty good actually, slightly better than in X2 IMO.. I am even more pumped for this movie now!

Like I say it is slightly cheesy, I mean with that music especially but this could just be a rough cut.. the music may change and the effects on Colossus may get worked on some more too.. Another Sentinel may even come landing in after that clip finishes, who knows.. but I have to say, the X3 production has been like a rollercoaster, all up and down, and while this clip doesn't leave me on such a high as the trailer did, it's still a pretty awesome clip and captures the comic feel pretty well (which I don't feel Bryan Singer quite did)... so I am still pumped and confident that X3 will be the best of the 3...

And there was clapping at the end because the clip was shown on the Jay Leno show so the clapping was from the audience..

i really didnt like that clip though, i thought the dialouge was REALLY BAD...and i dont ever have a prob wtih dialouge...it just seemed so unurgent, and we better get more visualization of a sentinel than 2 flood lights high in the sky

I've learned from spoiling movies for myself. I prefer these days to check out a few screenshots, and watch the occasional small trailer, but that's it. it's much more enjoyable when i get to the cinema that way. Besides, it comes out in a couple weeks!

So, what did you think of the trailer? I thought it was pretty awesome and now I'm dying to see X3. I rented both 1 & 2 for tonight and I'm watching 2 right now. They're still in the musuem right now.

I looked at the cast and characters on imdb.. who would you guys say is the strongest character? I'm not talking about the whole X-Men comics and what not.. just X-Men3 the movie. and by strongest I mean superior in powers and abilities and a notch above everyone else.

Back to the movie, I dont know what the plot is but the thing, in my opinin, with these Marvel remakes is that there are so many unanswered questions they have to follow on with another film.

Dont get me wrong I'm looking forward to this film as much as the next guy but I just hope they clear things up this time over wolverine et al.

I saw it last night. I liked it. A lot of people seemed to be moaning about it in comic shop I go to in Glasgow to get my anime magazines, but I liked it.

It is far darker though then the others.

Btw, there is a second ending after the credits where they reveal a major plot-issue in relation to a character death. I won't say anything else in case it spoils it for you, but myself, Shady and Sera and 5 other people were the only ones who stayed for the end of the credits so I'm guessing its not that well known.

So, since this is a spoiler chat, what was the second ending about?

I enjoyed the movie. It was a bit more action then the others and some areas I thought were just squeezed through real quickly. I mean, they should have really spent less time on the capture in the beginning and make room for more scenes. Yes, she was captured and that was all that was really needed to be said.

Somewhere near the beginning, the Professor is showing a video clip to the students about a man who was born with no conciousness, and he mentions something like, "what if a conciousness was put into this body?". Anyway, after the credits finish, it shows that 'mindless' man, and he says something to the lady-doctor(I think it was her name). She turns around with a shocked look on her face and says, "Charles?" Assuming he did move his mind into that man, it would explain why he smiled to Wolverine right before he died.
