I think you saw an unidentified flying object (UFO). Have you checked into whether this object was reported to some organization like, NUFORC?

A dish thing you say..? Well I can honestly say it was'nt from the T.H trophy cabinet..! It's very much void of silver dishes, cups etc...!!!
I would presume it being Guy Fawkes night that there were lots of flying objects that evening..!

It would be worthwhile in my opinion to try and contact any meteorlogical installations and find out if they had anything in the sky that night, but as was previously commented; It being guy fawkes there was probably a lot in the sky that night..

if it wasnt a plane or something then it could have been a ufo. but how close or good of a look did u get? could u tell it wasnt a plane for sure, or did u see the way it moved at all.
Raptor
Was it moving in a straight line or was it turning, and roughly how high was it?

It could very well have been something burning in the atmosphere, or a spark of a firework.
