Hey Guys, I havn't been on this website in a while, but decided to check it out tonight and I'm glad I did. Very interesting! I used to live over there and have driven around there many times, but had no idea about the history and what not! I would have been all over it if I had. I love visiting places that are supposedly haunted and taking my little camera with me. I will have to check this one out.

Staying on the topic of graveyards, I have another one that you guys may want to check out if you are ever over in my neck of the woods. I live down in Galveston County and there is a very old cemetary (I think it began being used in the late 1800's) in the Dickinson/Santa Fe area of Galveston County. I say that because it is right on the border of both. It is a hop skip and a jump from my house and my husband and I just took my kids over there last night to check it out. It is actually located right off of 517 on a road called Cemetary Road. The name of the Cemetary is Evergreen Cemetary. You can actually see pictures of it and hear EVPs on a website called paratexas.com. I will give ya a link too.

Anyways, it is a very secluded cemetary located down a little street off Cemetary road. If you ever want to check it out just take 45 south and exit the 517 Dickinson exit. Take a right onto 517 and you will have to go a few miles (roughly 3). You will see Cemetary road on the left, but keep your eyes peeled because it doesn't have a traffic light and it isnt really easy to see the street sign. After you have turned onto Cemetary you will travel about a mile or so and see a little street on the left with a metal fence and a historical marker sign. That is the street where the cemetary is located. Turn left and go down until you see the old gate. ONe end of the gate is closed and locked, but one end has been broked so you can walk right in. When we went last night the grass was very high, so don't wear your good shoes, ladies and bring some mosquito repellent too! YIKES, i almost got carried off. Anyways, it is right on Dickinson Bayou and that is were the EVP were picked up apparantly. It is hard to tell you are in a cemetary becasue most of the gravemarkers have been destroyed, but there are a few at the very front. There is also a plaque listing all the names of the people that are burried there. Pretty creepy place. I have been there a handful of times, but I have never seen anything. Last night I was going to bring my video camera, but I didn't have any tape. I am going back in a few days hopefully to try again. I will post if I see anything interesting. I also wanna check out the bluelight...sounds ultra creepy!

Oh yeah, heres a link to that sight if you wanna see some pics and hear some EVPs of the cemetary:

http://www.paratexas.com/bayou.htm

Let me know if anyone decides to go out there!

Happy hunting!

Before we went to Patterson Rd, we stopped by Beeler Cementary which was interesting on its own. When we first got there, we thought that we were in trouble because we saw a security truck come down near the cemetary then make a U turn towards us, but the guy just went on his way so all was good. Anyways, Beeler cemetary from what I could see at night is shaped like an L. Well at the inner part of the L, my aunt an I could feel a cold area near the bar fence that felt colder then the surrounding areas. To me though, that was not grabbing my attention as much as the small wooded area behind the cemetary. I felt as if someting was watching me from the trees or the bushes......and how ironic there was an owl in the tree and the moon was out lol.....still very strange.
I plan on going back out to Patterson Rd to get some more pictures off both bridges and maybe even some video footage. I can't wait to go again!

Maybe this is why? huh.gif Two people were murdered behind the cemetery where you felt watched.

This is an old cemetery on Eldridge Parkway at Enclave Parkway. The most recent grave is from circa 1916. I don't know who any of these people were or why they forever rest in their own little plot for all time. This is now a pocket park owned by Harris County. It was also this area that on August 22, 1990, the bodies of Cheryl Henry and Andy Atkinson were found. They went out to Bayou Mama's at Westheimer and Gessner and never came home. Her body was found with hands bound behind her and her throat cut as was his. On March of 2001, Houston Police Homicide detectives received a handwritten letter that asked for $100,000 in exchange for the identity of the killer. However, still today, the case remains free and some maniac got away with a double murder.

Nope...never had to find the material. I have known about it for a few years know. I live in the area and all these places are within a mile. I have hiked these woods for the past 18 years.

Very, very interesting! I haven't been on here in awhile and it's good to see this topic is still going. Thank you for the information. original.gif

There was another accident on Eldridge Rd. at Patterson Rd. this morning that looked really really bad (12/10/07)-the kind that you drive by and suddenly feel compelled to call home and tell everyone you love them-
stunterdude
hey everyone, im new to the site but just wanted to say yesterday i went to bluelight and it is in horrible shape...im trying to find someone to contact and get permission to clean it up.you could only see a headstone or two and the rest were covered by trees and overgroth..you cant even see from one side of the fence to the other.fence has been cut in the back so you can get in even tho there are signs warning its a federal offense.....its obvious no one has opened tha gate in years because pad lock is rusted to bad to get a key in it......ill try to get some pictures up here asap, thanks

I live 2 miles from here and hike this area alot as it is part of my backyard.

Not claiming it is haunted, though listed as haunted. I just thought I would share about an area with many fatalities. From the map provided below, I have only shown 20% of the fatalies and deaths.

This is not a well known spot for Houstonions, though many know of Bear Creek Park, no one knows of it's history.
I have hiked through this area, and such a strange feeling to stumble across an opening in the dense forest where it has been cleared out that a town once resided.

Bright yellow square: Around 200 years ago, this land was part of a community, a town, cemetery, church, and a thriving town.

Dim yellow square : The Bluelight cemetery.

The Church (is now historical marker) located on I-10 and Park Row, caty-corner to the Sam's Club.

As anyone that has driven down this dark strecth of Eldridge Pkwy, knows that there are crosses everywhere from fatalities.

Red Squares on "Eldridge Pkwy"- represent deaths by car crashe occured this past year, last one happend 2 days ago and always head on. Furthest red square down was from a murder. I was there when the police removed the body. Victim was a female doctor that was carjacked. Body was left to decompose for about 1 month before it was found.

I too smelt the decomposing body driving home everynight from my ex's house, disregarding it as roadkill, but smell lasted too long.
Note: Crashes increased after murder.

Blue Square : haunted bridge of Patterson Rd.

Houston - Patterson Road - Patterson Road is located between Highway 6 and Eldridge in Houston. This place is rumored to be the site of a Civil War battle and the bridge closest to Eldridge is haunted. If you park in the center of the bridge and turn your car off there will begin to be tapping noises all over your car. They aren't just the sounds of your car settling. They are mostly on the sides and the back of the car. It is said to be the spirits of the soldiers who died. Be careful, this road is absolutely pitch black at night, however you can see cars coming from either direction at quite a distance.

Large Purple Square : Where the Civil war battle occurred.

Second picture, is of the cemetery itself. It is fence in , and the actual size of cemetery is unknown. There is only one visible headstone. The others were damaged over time.

Thats something and really creepy to have smelt the decomposing body several times ,That would be something I would never forget....I checked out the website pretty cool..

Patterson road has officially been debunked!

after reading lalo's story from earlier in this thread, A few friends and I decided to go check the place out with an open mind. I'll admit, we were scared at first, the road is very creepy and dark.
after a few minutes of sitting on each bridge we got bored and left.

a few days later we wanted to go back and devote more time to it, and only went in a group of 3 for added creepyness.

Nothing happened.

We then tried taunting the ghost by yelling racial (mexican and german) ghost slurs at them and telling them they deserve to be ghosts.

nothing happened.

we then got out of the car and pissed on the bridge while yelling more racial ghost slurs.

nothing happened.

we then took turns leaving eachother behind like in lalo's story.

nothing happened.

We then took a trip to the gas station, bought some gasoline, went back to the bridge, and burned a pentigram on the road. We then pissed on the burning pentigram while yelling more racial ghost slurs.

nothing happened.

Needless to say, if ghosts were real, i think they would have shown themselves or atleast tapped on the damn car.

I have been out here quite a few time and there are alot of people who go out there and do stupid stuff like this. If there are ghost out there they are probably use to dumb kids peeing on things. As I said I've been to Pat. Rd. many times and have see lots of kids do this kind of stuff there before.

This is a really interesting thread!
I have never heard of this place before, but the stories are really interesting.
Visited the web links, and they gave a lot of info that was interesting also.

This was not a smart thing to do.
With all the murders that have taken place and such, you need to be more careful.

And how exactly does this debunk things? It merely proves that nothing interesting happened to you while you were there. Your account of things is well... it just sounds juvenile. Not a serious attempt at debunking anything.

Awesome post, however I don't think pissing and screaming racial slurs in a graveyard is going to bring any spirits out.

If anything it's more disrespectful and rude.

I agree! If I was a ghost out there I don't think I'd make my presence known either if I had someone yelling racial slurs at me. Personally, I'd rather sit back and look at how stupid they are in the middle of the road (no offense intended).

The last time I was out there I experienced a few things like clanging on the Langham Bridge sign and some orbs just off that bridge, but nothing too spectacular. I think if their is too much commotion and talking you're likely to experience very little or nothing at all.

ghosts aren't real; you either go to heaven or hell... by fearlessly peeing on that bridge, i pretty much proved jesus is our savior. think about it.

i'm 21 and it was off of a few $5 pitchers from ashford pub.

I'm not being serious, obviously.

but in all seriousness, ghost can't be real. They defy the laws of physics AND the laws of the bible. I wanted to see something, and up untill a few weeks ago, I did believe. I was scared sh**less the first time we went to patterson.

But we travled to every haunted site on the west side of houston, all the way down into richmond. We even went into some creepy ass church in richmond. We took it seriously at first. Was brought cameras and tape recorders, the whole 9 yards. NOTHING.

I'm just a normal guy. I'm not a punk teenager, i'm just a normal middle class white guy going to school and waitin' some tables.

How many of you people are wicken or pegan? I hate you. As a whole you're all ****ing annoying and ugly.

I'm sorry, i'm just venting. There's this pegan girl at work that i can't b**** at out of fear of losing my job.

Great. Racial slurs and now religious hate statements. You'll get a warning for this. You say you're not a punk teen? Really?

I have caught some stuff from here as well as from other various locations. It may be luck or that my equipment is better at picking up things or it could be that I dont create pentigrams, set fires and piss on things during a investigation.

And for who ever want an interesting read here is a link that deals with ghost in the bible.
