There are already two 9/11 conspiracy threads going and countless derails pertaining to it in other threads. This topic has been done to death...

Edit: And what do you mean by "They could have been stopped"? Was the air force supposed to bomb them mid-air, killing the passengers onboard and showering the people below with debris? Come on...

So we get oil from countries we buy almost the least from? ok... alright. If you knew anything, we get most of our oil from our backyard. Not imports.

Derails? All I saw was ignoring what the people were posting about the conspiracy and calling them names.

As for shooting them down. Couple hundred people who were gonna die anyways or 3000 that could be saved, hmmm tough choice.

It wasn't known for sure it was an attack until after the second plane hit. Before that day every hijacking had been used as negotiation for some other means. Take the plane to another country. Sometimes use the passengers as hostages.
After it was known it was an attack, then yes shoot them down. But that requires being sure you have the correct plane. That is part of why everybody was grounded that day. But you still have to get a visual ID on the suspect plane. Now keep in mind that before that day NORAD did not practice intercepts over the continental US. They had only done one. That was Payne Stewart's jet and it took them over an hour and a half to make that intercept. All their intercepts before then were over international waters and NORAD's radar did not even look internally. That has changed and NORAD is a lot busier now for it.
