Has anyone seen that photo of the massive UFO over a mountain surrounded by planes...dunno weither it's from a film or something but it would be interesting to get some background on it. It's on the net somewhere as I've seen it before but am unable to relocate it.

Solid Snake,
Can you describe it a bit more? Was it on black and white film or in colour? Was it a daylight or night time?

I recently saw this picture (see first link below) being discussed by Wendelle Stevens on a VHS tape called UFO Sightings - Photographic Evidence produced by From Beyond.

This is the picture he was discussing:

It's black and white, can't remember weither it was light or day...it looked like a South American mountain like the ones in Columbia, there are also palm trees.

I have a huge book on UFOs(like 700 pages)and there is a picture in it of a UFO over mountains. It was taken at Trindade Island off the coast of Bahia, Brazil. It is also a black and white photograph. It almost looks like it has a ring around it. It was also taken January 1, 1958 at 7:58 a.m. from a Brazilian navy ship. But there are no planes surrounding it and there are probably palm trees in the picture, but it is hard to tell.

I'm starting to doubt this is a real UFO picture but I'll send you a link to a painted version of it.

I'd be pretty shocked if that was real. It almost looks drawn...though that's just the old grainy films fault I suppose

Yeah, I'd have to say that, If that ever happened, all bets would be off. This forum wouldn't exist and we'd all be some sort of slave to aliens serving them dinner with some sort of control devise stuck up our butt. ohmy.gif

I'm sure that picture never happened. Then again, I could be wrong no.gif

Yes.

I remember that Los Angeles air raid. Folks thought we were being attacked by the Japanese. It's a documented incident, and still unexplained. yes.gif

I dunno weither because the painting had been transferred to black and white it looked real...but it was on a UFO pictures page with over UFO pictures and it really did look real.
shikon1
they had the cbs news report (here:cbs report) on it

Cool audio report. Here's some stuff about the Battle of LA. I thought it was interesting as it quotes some eye witness reports. Some of the information seems to be very speculative, but there really isn't a great deal of solid evidence about this event.
hazzard
Until we have more information the "Battle of LA" is one incident that remains a real unexplained mystery. I realy like this one. But remember William of Occam.

I have to agree that given the choice between some type of Japanese blimp, or an alien space ship, the most reasonable choice seems pretty obvious. Also, there were known to be Japanese submarines off the CA coast at this time.
