If you see a short life-line, establish the age at the ending, then gauge the way the line finishes, e. g. just peters out, or does it stop suddenly, see its relation to the other lines, and how they stop. In fact the real information is in the other signs put together.
Palmists in India will look at the heart line or “jivan reka” to see if there are signs of heart problems at the time the life line stops, or to check when the heart actually stops beating, even the British medical journal says 60% of all deaths in Britain are cardio –vascular related, if no confirmation here then look to the head line for strokes, inspect the nails, the bracelet lines across the wrist, and health line for irregularities, in fact every area of the hand for confirmation, and if none, then look for another explanation.
Diagnosing from one sign alone has been a damaging trend in allopathic medicine, resulting in spurious statistics such as has become known as “meadows law” after quack Roy Meadows, always look for further confirmation elsewhere in the hand. As Sherlock Homes would say; “when the search for the probable is exhausted, then that only leaves the improbable” Palmer-topography, determines the highs and lows of the mount interactions, and their various meanings. With any health query, examine the actual strength of the life-line, and the line of health which runs from under the little finger diagonally to the lifeline, and the nails.
Also bear in mind that even though changes mainly occur in the minor lines, the major lines can on rare occasion change too, and remember you have to be very diplomatic, with regards to length of the line, because often people with a short line are very vulnerable.. In one case a hand-print in my collection, taken from a young British actress with life lines that suddenly stopped, was altered with the introduction of a different health regime, no drugs or alcohol, and proper meals, the print taken some months after actually shows much improved life-lines. Experts divide the line of life into four sections, childhood, adolescence, maturity and old age, and these correspond to; water, fire, air and earth, which morphologists define as the digestive type, the thoracic type, the musculo-articular type and the cerebral type Psychologist Carl Jung also added the dimensions of, sensation, feeling, thinking, and intuition. The bible speaks of mans three score years and ten, and Shakespeare too mentions the system of seven divisions of mans experience, or the seven divisions into periods each of ten years, and the use of a compass is ideal for equally dividing the lifeline. For many years I would use a protractor to measure the years on the lifeline. Where dating can be problematic, is that the life line begins between the thumb and first finger, in a spot that does not show its years on a print.
If seen as a river that cuts its way through the palm, the mountains and valleys, cross bars and bridges, all tell a unique story of our journey through life. Many people worry over a short lifeline, and I have had arguments with gypsies over their interpretations which are finalistic and fatalistic, but remember as a single sign alone it cannot dictate the length of life. Always make sure the line contains no gaps, digs, breaks, islands or bars.
At times the river of life flows swiftly and as we age it slows, giving us time to see the passing landscape, of loves and past fears, of dreams unquenched and of those things unsaid. In job; 14/5 we read, “seeing all his days are determined by the number of his months, Which are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass” So in essence we read that god has an appointed time for us all. My training in thanatological psychology, holistic counselling and spiritual mediumship taught me, to use care and comfort, especially in this area, please bear this in mind if you look at hands. The very popular medical website, “death clock” which can give from the input of height and weight with age, what they say is a close time of death, and even
Insurance companies who insure the lives of customers have graphs and charts marking out potential spans, by weight, diet, alcohol, stress and life patterns. Dendro-chronology is the science of telling the life of the tree through its annular rings, the same theory can be applied to palmistry, the years of the lifeline are as the width of a match-stick, and a similar story can be read from the life line, as the rings on the tree. The first line to form on the foetus in the womb is the lifeline, appearing in the first few weeks of life. This fact immediately stifles the breath of life from arguments of those who claim that the lines are just the flexion creases from the work you do,
For how could a foetus do work?
In these times of great spiritual unrest where inner turbulence affects us all,
A compassionate look into the hand, is a look into the soul,
A far reaching touch to those places where a little help and heal can make the difference, for maybe at times, we truly are our brothers keeper.

The start to the life line, figure (1) shows our intrauterine life and how we entered the world, and with what karmic baggage.
Figure (2) is the line of Mars, this will show that we are watched over either from spirit, or from a parent or spouse, information on a guardian angel or spirit guide shows here.
The bracelet lines (3) and the interconnection to the life lines ending will tell of where to confirm the last health weakness.
I worked for some time in complementary clinics and advised on diet with vitamin and mineral supplements particularly, based from the palmer linear formation.
Look closely at figure (4) as the way the line ends tells of our demise, as a rule it splits into several small lines, and this is representative of the life energies, those energies will traditionally end at home if the line goes round the thumb, or away from home and the place of birth if it pushes out toward the moon mount.
Remember it is quality of life which is important, not quantity.
I am often surprised over the years how often the life lines ending, is protected by a square, the most optimistic sign in palmistry
Old age once considered something to fear, is now seen largely as a content rounding off to the working life, and something to look forward to.
