A well-known example of synchronicity involves plum pudding. It is the true story of the French writer Emile Deschamps who in 1805 is treated to some plum pudding by the stranger Monsieur de Fontgibu. Ten years later, he encounters plum pudding on the menu of a Paris restaurant, and wants to order some, but the waiter tells him the last dish has already been served to another customer, who turns out to be M. de Fontgibu. Many years later in 1832 Emile Deschamps is at a diner, and is once again offered plum pudding. He recalls the earlier incident and tells his friends that only M. de Fontgibu is missing to make the setting complete, and in the same instant the now senile M. de Fontgibu enters the room by mistake.

So what does this have to do with anything?
Are you a fan of The Police or something?

Jung.
I think the movie Signs was about synchronicity.
Jung thought it was a type of proof of the existence of a god or outside influence and that was pretty much how the preacher got his faith back in the movie.

Synchronicity based on my personal experiences, is very real. And I've been getting that for about two years now. Spooky stuff.
Signs...with Mel Gibson?

Synchronicity in Signs would be when the little boy and girl found a picture of their house in a book on fire or something with three little figures lying in front of the lawn? That's all I can think of.

In the movie the man lost his faith because his wife was killed.
As she was dying he thought she was talking out of her head because nothing she was saying made any sense to him.
Then at the end when he had no idea what to do to save his family his mind blanked and what she said rose back up from his subconscious, which were instructions on what would save them.
See the movie again and think of Jung showing the hand of God existing in synchronicity and you will see it this time.
Synchronicity - When too many coincidences exist that go against the theory of probability, it is not coincidence but outside influence.
Another example would be the book Futility and the sinking of the Titanic. Too much coincidence.

Made perfect sense. I remember that. Beautiful part of the movie imo.

So it is the same event happening at 2 different times.

Sounds sexy

I can't think of any severe cases of synchornity like that... Pretty kewl though.

I keep having little stupid experiences of synchronicity. For example I could see a subject posted on a forum I've previously never heard of, and than the next day I will see the subject on tv or hear someone speak about it, or if I hear a word from somewhere I've never heard previously I'll than hear people say it for the next few days randomly.
Also, some thing else, which I don't know whether could be considered synchronicity or not, I keep seeing the number '57' everywhere I go. That's some thing that's been bugging me for the past year or so.

I just had a synchronicity thing now, and I had another a couple of days ago.
First of all this thread:
http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...showtopic=62093Someone was talking about getting cuts and bruises out of nowhere. The night before this thread I watched Casualty (A tv drama, an English version of E.R. I suppose?), which I never usually watch, In that episode, a girl in it had the same 'symptoms' as described by the person in that thread, the doctor said it was a condition of 'ITP'. Which is why I suggested it in that thread. (Do you really think a 15 year old knows what 'Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura' is?

)
Secondly:
Moments after posting in this Synchronicity thread, I saw
this thread. Normally I wouldn't know what the hell to suggest, but I read
THIS thread a few days ago which gave me the answer to suggest in the new thread.
So yeah, there you go.
