What does anyone think of Smackdown VS RAW '06? I think its an awesome game, especially for WWE wrestling fans. If you dont have the game but like wrestling in the WWE, these are the wrestlers in it:

Very good game, though I only have one critique of the game and that is the extremely short season mode. I loved the season mode on 'Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth', well I think it's that one...the one were you play infinite an infinite season and you can keep going even if you loose. I think a longer one is better because it feels too arcadey when you end the season when you loose, because being apart of wrestling includes loosing and it overall is much more enjoyable with a longer season. If they can port the great graphics and great gameplay with a great season...then they'll be on there way to creating the ultimate wrestling game.

The only problem is the amazingly dull wrestlers that are on the show at the moment and by time they make the best wrestling game it will just be full of crap wrestlers anyway. I mean come on John Cena is an idiot, Batista just has no character and Edge is just plain annoying. Why are these 'new commers' in the ranks of WWE, why isn't Kane been champion for like 8 years? Why was Eddie Guerrero taken out of the championship hunt when he was probably the best upcoming star they had? Anyway that's enough for that.

I don't like that the create a character mode is not a detailed as before, although the CAW's are look far far better, particularly the females who in the last few games looked like Chimpanzee's. I also hate who you can't use females in the game, once again shows the WWE's cavemen attitudes to female wrestlers.

Obviously he's dead, but I mean before that he got took out of the title run. Also I think Bradshaw was a good champion because he had real character I think that John Cena is being used wrong and they didn't build his character or him up enough for him to be cemented as a real star...same goes with Batista. I think the WWE's main problem at the moment is that there pushing too many stars and there are not permenant top players. I mean there are no Rock's or Austin's in it anymore....okay there is Triple H but he ain't exactly being used to his full potential anymore. Same goes with The Undertaker, but I think it was a good decision to make Angle a champion...finally a good decision.

Thanks, Subtemperate. Im gonna go check that thread out. As for the game, I think the game is awesome. Not perfect, with the short season mode and all. But still a good buy.

The next game should have more create-a-wrestler opinions, and allow females wreslters to be in the game. And given it'll be on PS3, a better, bigger season mode using the PS3 memory to allow more paths and story arcs so no two games is the same.

I'm also sick of the rap music in the game, they should have rock music. And get rid of the voice acting, its rubbish, none of them can voice act to save themselves, just wastes memory.

I agree. Just one thing, the game already has female divas in the game that can wrestle. Do you mean more of them?

I'm talking about ones that can take part in season mode and all the matches (not any more of this rubbish, 'girls can't wrestle in table and cage matches'). I want female WRESTLERS not divas. And have the CAWs reflect this. I liked in the previous ones how they had female enterences were you could have heel females hitting the cameras etc, now hoever every single female enterence is a Diva enterence, i.e. all waving, all smiling, all playing to the fans, none of them showing any heel traits or look like their ready to fight. At least in the first few games you could also put gender to none, which allowed female wrestlers to bypass WWE and THQ's stoneage attitudes and have a part in the game.

The game really shows how WWE in real life chooses super model women instead of actual wrestlers. I mean seriously in a proper wrestling match with a REAL wrestling woman who would win stick thin Stacey Keibler or a REAL wrestler?

Stacey Keibler should be limited to managing, she shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the in-side of the ring.

Joke is, females can be just as good at wrestling as men. In Japan they have all woman's leagues, and some of the matches are fantastic (some are rubbish, because they have their fair share of Bradshaw's and Gold berg's too). So I can't see why WWE doesn't try a serious attempt to woman's wrestling. Certainly in the games where its fiction they should have it. in real life Vince might not want to give any air time to a female Kurt Angle or Eddie Guerruro, but in a video game if I want to make a female wrestler and have her go for gold I should be allowed too.

I love wrestling. Men's or woman's. But hate the diva league, its not wrestling, its eye-candy, and as much as a straight male I love females, if I want eye candy I'll go get a girl friend or go on google... I don't want it with my wrestling.



Anyone else here play the Total Extreme Wrestling games. Its not the same as Smackdown, its a fed simulator where you hire wrestlers and book angels etc. But I love that game, and guess what? 40% of my roster is female.

I agree with Talon. The WWE should have female wrestling AND divas. They are nice to watch.

Dude, Chyna was awful. She hand no talent, she was rubbish, she only looked like a man. By woman being as good as men, I'm talking about Victoria in WWE (who's decent, not fantastic, but decent), or Japanese wrestlers such as Akino (who I've never seen wrestle, but heard she's fantastic).

I'm not saying Chyna was great I was saying she had the capabilities to take on men.

When I say take on men, I don't mean I want big woman. I mean being able to put on good matches. Spike Dudley is weak looking, but he's a good wrestler and deserved a lot more credit than he got as WWE's jobber. I don't want a woman's division that you look at and say 'wow, they have massive muscles' or even 'god, I think she could take out HHH'. I just want woman who can put together good matches with each other and make the Woman's title mean something.

You really aren't getting this are you. Let me try and explain what I meant if it's possible:

Currently in the WWE there is not very many real women wrestlers...the closest they've had in recent years has been Chyna.

And as I said, Chyna was rubbish. She couldn't wrestle to save her life. She had about as much talent as Goldberg... what a waste of space he was. Nah, Chyna wasn't a wrestler, she was a female body-builder they decided to push, just as Mark Henry isn't a wrestler just some muscle bound freak they've decided to push.
Anyway, the WWE does have real woman wrestlers. Trish and Victoria can both wrestle, both are in fact pretty decent, not Upper Card level, but pretty solid Mid-carders (actually I remember this one PPV where Victoria and Trish' match as far as I'm concerned was the third best match on the card). Ivory was decent enough in her prime (not brilliant, but at least she could put on a match unlike Stacy, Torrie etc), but I haven't seen her wrestle in years, so who knows what shape she's in now. Lita... knows wrestling moves, but she isn't that good. Hell even Gail Kim, was better than Chyna or any of the Diva weights, and thats saying something considering she was very green.

I agree. It seems they only made female characters so there could be Fulfill your Fantasy matches.

People, wrestling is not about having the biggest muscles. Wrestling is about being able to WRESTLE. It involves knowing holds, moves and in-ring pyschology and being able to put them together with an oponent to put on a match. Chyna was simply a muscle bound freak, who knew all of 3 actually wrestling movies and relied almost totally other than that on her oponents carrying her through a match or repeatedly doing clotheslines over and over again. Just because people they decided to put her in matches against Intercontinental league people such as Jericho, does not mean she was at their level. In wrestling you can be 5'2" and weight 150 pounds and be a great wrestler e.g. TAKA, who the WWE used as a jobber, despite him being one of the top wrestlers in the world. Having muscles just makes you look the part, it has no relation whatsoever with talent.

I'm guessing that the next game will be on PS3, which hopefully means they have enough memory to deal with the current games main flaws i.e. I want a more diverse season mode.

I have this game for PS2
I've gotten to the 30th number in the Royal Rumble, and was against Eddie Gaureo or whatever for the win. He was all really weak and stuff, and I wasn't hurt at all. I couldn't do that Strong Irish Whip thing to get rid of him

Same thing in the Smackdown season. I was in the Buried Alive match against The Undertaker. I was Mankind. I managed to Strong Irish Whip him like 3 or 4 times, but couldn't really get him in there.

I think the game is pretty good,it could be a bit tougher though,i was gonna start a little thread about it because i can not seem to figure out what a casket finisher is for the challenge mode,can anyone help me out with this?

Meh, I only go on the GM Mode now, used to be nuts over it though. That's the thing with WWE games, they lose their novelty in about 2 months.

I don't understand what your question is.. if its how you do a finisher then simple.. you have to have one stored finisher and ur bar filled for a second then irish-whip and press L1 when opponent is down against casket. This will do a finisher and end the match without having to close the casket.



There was one way I read' about a while ago, but I forget. Look it up I'm sure you'll find it.. sites like Gamespot and IGN are great for looking up ps2 games.
