Let me say that Ouija boards, séances, channelling and automatic writing are not simply just fun and games. They are, in fact, gateways. Now I am sure the sceptics out there are laughing, snickering and rolling their eyes, and that's fine, let them. This here what I am typing is applied like the condom rule, it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. As I was saying, they are gateways. On the spiritual plane, where spirits (Duh!) and demons normally exist pushiest player goes first when a window or door to our plane opens. So next time you're sitting in a circle with your friends on a Saturday night having a séance, communing with your Aunt Agnes remember that when you opened the door, you really are not, in all probability, talking to Aunt Agnes.
There are a few things to note when using an ouija board, or having a séance for that fact. When the spirit in question "arrives" the room will inevitably be colder, maybe not to all, but this is why most channelers are what are called sensitivities. People who are more sensitive to supernatural phenomenon will quickly notice the temperature change, people who are not "sensitivities" will notice it too, but at a more gradual rate. A sudden drop in temperature in a room, a cold spot where it should be normal temperature is an indicator that something Demonic may be manifesting itself. Sudden foul odours normally accompany the preternatural as well. Feelings of ill ease, or fear and even pending danger are common. Additionally to this, before you go accusing Demons, check the thermostat, make sure the neighbour did not burn the roast chicken they were having for dinner.
A word of practicality should be noted here. Though you may encounter the Demonic from the aforementioned sources, it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that you will ever come across one.
The good side of all this is that the preternatural (Demonic) uses a tried and true formula for getting what it wants from you. It has a plan that thought they will vary slightly, is almost predictable in its ways. Demons tend to work in 3 stages.

It is at this stage where nightmares are common, if it lets you sleep at all. Loss of appetite, the target of the attack will begin to go through personality changes, becoming more lethargic, cranky (You'd be too if you weren't getting much sleep and the sleep you got was filled with terror, and you were hungry all the time). Their appearance begins to change, though not due to the Demon directly, the loss of food and sleep makes them look tired, thinner. They begin to care less about their appearance, perhaps wearing the same clothes for day on end. It is during this stage that the demon or demons as it or they (most likely they at this point) may be have the target under control. It is interesting to note that more often than not when outside help is sought, Priests, Nuns, pastors other clergymen or para natural researchers are contacted during this stage. One of 2 things will happen, either activity will intensify, or stop completely. If it stops completely, do not let your guard down, in almost all cases it is only biding its time and they will attack again but with a vengeance. This is where physical bodily harm will occur, violence towards others starts here too.
3) POSSESSION - This almost goes without saying. Here the Demons will take over the target if and when they are able. It sounds defeatist but you can try to call in an exorcist. With the amount of sleep deprivation and mal-nutrition the host will most likely die. Not due to the possession itself, but rather from the effects of the obsession phase. Now if sleep loss and mal-nutrition were not used in the obsession phase, the target may be normal most of the time, then at times they appear completely crazy, and the spirits within are in charge. This is the case with most "Perfect Possessions" though I do not like that terminology, as I do not feel that anything involving demons could ever be perfect.
What to do? what to do? Well, in my opinion, stay away from séances, ouija boards and things of this nature. If you suspect you are in the infestation stage, ignore it and seek psychiatric help to be sure it's not just you. If you fear you are in the Obsession stage seek help from outside sources and again see a Psychiatrist. If you are possessed then god bless because I cannot help you. What was going on in your family that you were seeing spirits at 5?
I believe that there are as-yet unknown forces in this universe that God put in place. How is it that myself and my family members can feel when someone is dying or in danger in the family?
I am not wiccan, incidentally.
I think that the forces simply exist but in tampering with them, you can inadvertently get ahold of something you shouldn't. If someone has true spiritual discernment, it may not quite as big of a problem but evil spirits can easily fool anyone regardless of intelligence.
So some things may be God-given but others are in a shakier realm. I agree that it's best to avoid readings, seances and ouija boards.

man i just recently got into this demonic ****. Its very intriguing. Its gnarly to think something we cant see can be so in control in the real world. I have been watching with my gf many of the haunting shows on the discovering channel or another channel close to it in selection. The show does a really good job depicting/re-enacting a true story that occured involving demonic forces & the families that dealt with these forces. I like opened up my eyes & got me really interested. My current interests involve other things that arent necessarily important to most people like rap and shoes & clothes. But this demonic **** has quickly gained my interest. The show i watch also does a good job creating a model of the devil, as when the demon's show their true selfs after the victim or the victim's family recognizes them in their flesh.. ..the detail payed attention to showing the demon's in flesh is unreal & so unreal its unbelievable looking. Like its like doom the oG version for the pc/playstation 1 with the 16-bit graphics where those demons with the horns & huff that throw the green fireball flames, its just hellish & scary. They are 1 in alike.. I know how you mentioned that the demon's dont have a geographic roaming area, they arent strict to a region. They follow & penetrate the victim as well as they can, so as to where the person is so vulnerable the demon just eats weak ppl up like they saying, "its as easy as stealing kid from a candy". I dont know, i just trip out on this. I cannot really tell people im interested in demons, because i am a christian, i apply christian rules/morals/values, but i am not profound in preaching & rehearsing it, but i project myself as a representative of its movement. I dont have a gift that allows me to recognize spirits or those alike, any paranormal activity and such. I just think demons are kind of fly & i know thats sick to say that. I am not a dark person or into devilish representation in any sense, i am just thoroughly interested in it. Because i have never experienced the negativity that comes with being harrassed by a demon its almost like im not being realistic about my thoughts. Its like how some people think certain things would be cool, like, "i wanna go fight in war & shoot guns, hahaha so cool!" ..but then if they were to experience everything that goes with war they might not want to shoot guns anymore or at all; you get me? Its like i imagine what it would be like to be stalked by a demon. Of course i dont want to be possessed by one or have one come into my body & control my body/thoughts/actions, its just like incredible to think there is something we cant see able to do all kinds of things in showing itself without being seen. Then again it could be that our human eyes cant detect these images because god didn't intend for us to view these such things. He assigned only a few humans the gift of being able to recognize the good and bad things that cant be seen but 1 per 200 ppl or whatever the ratio value is... ..just to balance society & be able to communicate those that arent living w/ some living for a correct sole purpose.
