Far fetched idea I admit, but with some role-playing perhaps (?) you see where I am coming from.

Imagine if you will, that you are an alien, intelligent and have a society that has excelled in travel of all forms, planetary, time etc etc....
This technology has leaked to the population and as yet no laws or constraints have been passed to make behaviour and use illegal.

The fact is the government is naive and doesnt foresee what could happen.

Also assuming that the planet you find yourself on was populated by the inhabitants of Earth from a forgotten civilisation (sounding like stargate Atlantis here).

You have knowledge of your ancesters on Earth.
You have time travel and planetary travel at your finger tips.
You know that no laws for this field have been passed.

Would you -

Return to the ancestral home Earth in a period and use your knowledge to create a monopoly in the way that Bill Gates has?
With your knowledge and history books it will be so easy to bring an efficient never seen before system to the world and become seriously rich.

Return to the ancestral home Earth and show and explain gravity, and thus have your name in the history books of Earth forever?

Basically the point is..... Has our own technology suddenly `jumped`, because of luck, a seriously celever person, or alien intervention.

I mean - How do you accidently discover electricity?

If it was so easy to discover..... why did Maya tribes and Incas not have it (based on nigh on no evidence at all)?

Is Bill Gates an Alien awaiting to unleash his computer technology on his home planet and we are merely a research base for him?

Sounds like a far fetched idea to me, but ok, I get where you are coming from. If you ask me, I dont think it was aliens, but mere humans that were smart.

the mayans, incans e.c.t. were dead by the time electricity was discovered to be a new enrgy source. we didn't "accidently" discover anything. Something occured to us, questions as in "why?" does everything fall to the ground? (gravity) and we came up with theories. I doubt aliens were involved in our european progress. However the deats the mayans, incans and aztecs did achieve are amazing compared to us. There architecture is astonishing and some of the places they built in seems impossible.

If you're thinking that we;ve had contact in early history. then think to the native tribes who lived in what we today call america.

I would come here to better mankind, whilst getting filthy rich!

Well the one that discovered electricy was after the historybooks Ben Franklin and he discovered with a kite.



Infact some scientists belive that the chinesians discovered the electrisy 2000 years ago. This theory is supported by the fact that it`s found aliminiumsculptures thousands off years old in a temple in China found in 1969. Aliminium is maked from Bauxitt by using electrisy on it !

But back to what you sai`d: Infact the pyramids that you find in South-America and the one that you find in China is nearly identical ! Both the Mayans and the Chinesians used jade (a stoone ore metall ore something like that) a lot, but noboby nows were the chinesians got theire jade from, because jade can only be found in South-America !

Therefor scientists belive that the chinesians and the mayans infact was trading with eachother and that the Chinesians got theire jade from the mayans and in return the mayans leard the secret about how making Pyramids and the secret about how making electrisy !

So therefor some people belive that the mayans had electisy !

But myself i just belive that the aliens gave both civilizations everything !

Hubbard, 57, will occupy the Carl Sagan Chair for the Study of Life in the Universe at the SETI Institute, effective Feb. 15.

"My new position at the SETI Institute allows me to return to the research arena and pursue a lifelong interest in the search for life in the universe and its origins on Earth," he said.

SETI, which stands for the "search for extraterrestrial intelligence," houses research into the origin of life and how it might be found on other planets and moons. The institute, in Mountain View, Calif., is a nonprofit organization and home to dozens of researchers.

Hubbard joined the nearby NASA Ames Research Center in 1987 and as director worked to increase collaboration with neighboring universities and companies.

In 2003, he was named to the board that helped determine the cause of the Columbia's disintegration that January.

Earlier, he was the first Mars program director at NASA headquarters, where he worked to correct problems that doomed two spacecraft in 1999.

Hubbard's new position is named for Carl Sagan, a planetary researcher who popularized science and the search for life through his work on NASA missions, books and the PBS television series Cosmos. Sagan died in 1996.
