I'm wondering if anyone here can help me understand the Four (physical) Forces:

Strong, Electromagnetic, Weak, and Gravity.

Speculative theories suggest that all four forces had the same strength immediately after the Big Bang. Is this in anyone's area of expertise?

The weak force binds an electron to the nucleus.
The strong force binds the nucleus together (protons and neutrons)
The electromagnetic force creates the spectrum from deep infra red to xrays, including all that we see.
Gravity is the force that exists between masses and its force is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
Rather than go into a dissertation of Grand Unified or Theories of everything, look here. Also, do a Google search. You will find plenty to keep you occupied. thumbsup.gif

Well, if you can come up with Unified Field Theory that jives with both Relativity and Quantum Mechanics you're sure to earn a place in the history books!

I think we are just looking at the whole thing in the wrong way. We are trying to rewind the universe to a singularity. What if it was different than that? At some point in the far distant future, our universe will disperse to the point where it is so homogenous that any given point in the universe will be indistiguishable from any other. Could this be where the uncertainty principle comes to fore? If every point in the universe is indistinguishable from any other point, then might they be considered to be the same point, thus a new singularity, giving rise to another big bang?

Interesting, I heard that if eveything expands sufficiently, next everything will begin to *rip* apart, aka "The Big Rip". It seems that noone knows for sure about much of this!
