What is the kind of photoshop that you can make avatars and sigs on? Anyone know the exact name? Thanks,
Taylor

You can use anything from Microsoft Paint to $1200 program suites.

Personally I use Corel Suite 12. yes.gif

Photoshop is the Software made by Adobe (Company Name). There are different versions, CS2 (Creative Suite 2) being the most recent version, Photoshop CS, 7, 6, 5 etc.

The Macromedia Company (which was recently bought off from Adobe) has Fireworks , which is mainly used for web graphics, such as the Avatars and Signatures here in UM, web banners etc.

There are a few others, like the Corel Suite as Angrycrustacean posted, that also includes the Paintshop Family, Corel Painter, Graphics Suits, etc.

I'm not sure about the comparison of the price ranges, but you can buy affordable softwares that are consumer-friendly for under $100. However for intermediate and professional users, the price range can extend to $100-1000+ for the suite, which is a collection of softwares.

laugh.gif I hope I don't sound like a know-it-all. I'm researching the price range and the softwares as I'm typing this out. Hope this helps grin2.gif

Indeed. The Corel suite runs for about $350 US, I believe.

I got it free since I have contacts at a printing shop. laugh.gif

I use Adobe Photoshop CS2, which is a really good program for making Siggys & Avatars. Though i dont know the "real" price for it, mine was only $10 for a new Copy.

Thanks everyone. I might have my dad buy it on ebay for me, for my

if your only using the software for personal use [ie not planning on selling stuff or working for money] you can pick up academic versions of most of the good paint programs for around AU $150
