Understanding mind is incomplete without taking the complete picture into consideration. For convenience of understanding mind has been divided into four levels, namely - physical, behavioral, emotional and spiritual.

Going through physical to spiritual levels, there are many streams of study which deals in understanding mind - neurology, psychiatry, psycology, philosophy and spirituality.

The meaning of disorders or abnormality drastically changes while traversing through this spectrum. Most of the mind-related problems can be easily avoided or prevented by better mind-management, individually.

possibly, they are talking about thinking in a 'big picture' kinda sense, in order to fully comprehend things. upon doing so, we will be better able to understand mind matters...or I have no clue what it's about.

I think that is Modern Man's linear way of understanding Mind, I can not say you are incorrect at all. I would not assume to think I understood abberrations of the Mind. is it Physical or Spiritual? Also I believe studying the Mind is different than Understanding Mind. I think Mind may be Logical and Soul may be Emotional. I do not really understand abberrations....Mind Management - that is an interesting way of putting it. I wish more folks would apply.

In the modern time, anyone who is searching for the truth is strengthening their spirtuality. The world today as I see it is searching more for the truth than it has in a long long time.

I think Mind may be Logical and Soul may be Emotional.

1) Physical (electrical charges)
2) Mind handles logic and emotion
3) Soul doesn't exist

Scientific understanding of mind is limited to neurology and at the best psychiatry. Going further, science has no choice but to limit itself by defining what is general/common/normal. If something unsual is there it has no explanation to decisively conclude whether abnormality of mind is a disease or a rare natural phenomenon....

The terms body, mind, soul, spirit etc. are used in the context they have been explained at - http://www.geocities.com/agyat_theunknown

The 'understanding' of soul does not exist... If the understanding is there, soul does exist. Soul or spirit (even mind) are conceptual not physical. Brain is mind at physical level only. Brain is the connection between material and mind spaces (through five senses, ofcourse).

No, there is just no spirit or soul. Just mind.

Spirit - There is something in each of us, which is neither physical nor mental. It is beyond body and mind. In both physical or mental terms, it is complete nothing, vaccum or space. It is something by virtue of which there is life in us. The absence of which will make your body dead.

Soul - It is considered a part of mind (thoughts) which is nearest to the spirit. It is basically an understanding which is separate and unique for every individual and therefore, can never be contested - whether it exist or not...

How do you know the soul doesn't exist? Because we can't use science to prove the soul? Because we can't use something that is used to test the physical world on something that isn't physical? LOL

If you want to take the biblical definition of soul and spirit. The soul is YOU. You are a soul. Your body is your soul. Your SPRIRIT is the non-physical part of you. I'd like to believe the consciousness itself.

Understanding from 'Mindspace' -

You cannot defeat me.
I can never win over you.
Both the above statements are true!
