I guess they would still disagree. Lets put it this way; I'm seriously skeptical about God's(?) existence. If science proved 100% that he existed/exists, I would still expect there to be an alternative explanation. I wouldn't buy it at all.

But that's just me ...

Well, that's the great thing about science. What anyone, skeptic or otherwise, believes is irrelevant, regardless of the reason. Science has proven that a paranormal phenomena occurs, then, until that premise has been falsified, it will stand.

Whether skeptics believe it or not is up to them, they will have to, though, accept it as valid.

That isn't necessarily true. Although I've never seen a spirit/ghost personally, but many people have. Not one person has ever said they've really seen a god. I would tend to believe in ghosts more than a god. BTW I was xian for the first 1/2 of my life. I think maybe people are confusing ghosts for a god. Back in the day this could have explained where the concept came from.

That seems a pretty logical guess.
It could account for many sightings in areas that were already ancient to the ancients, more so than in newer locations of building that they had.
