Hospital for the broken-hearted

A hospital clinic for the broken-hearted has been set up in Germany to give emergency treatment to those who have been dumped.

Set up by Munich-based Dr Birgit Delisle, the clinic in the Schwabing Hospital is aimed primarily at love-sick teenagers who do not know how to cope with a broken heart.

"Having your heart broken can lead to physical and psychological problems, from loss of appetite which leads to sudden weight loss to unbelievable pain that drives many people to take drastic measures."

The free clinic in the Bavarian capital will have experts on hand to advise both sexes on how to cope with being single.

It is better than hitting the bars or places for drugs.

I could just imagine the number of couples that would meet there on the rebound.

What is this world coming to?

No one can deal with any emotional upheaval anymore without five support groups, two hospitals, a mind-altering drug, and a puppy. People are being turned into emotional wrecks because the ability to just deal with things is being replaced with hand-holding and mollycoddling.

Just get over it people. That which does not kill you makes your stronger -- or it should.

For the most part I agree with you. There are a lot of adults who want to be babied like children, but teens have a nasty habit of turning into some type of addict far faster than adults do.
If time shows that it is working at all it might be a cheap fix for what often becomes an expensive social problem when they become adults.

I think it's a great idea, but as long as it's used appropriately... I could see a lot of people wasting the services for just a bit of sympathy rather than those who need it beause it is a life altering change
