LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A homeless man who police say tried to take a sheep from the Little Rock Zoo has been arrested on numerous charges. A security guard at the zoo called police Tuesday evening after spotting a man carrying a trash can with a sheep in it, a police report said.

When officers arrived Grady Allen Carnahan, 32, told them he was a doctor and the sheep was sick. He said he was taking the animal to a veterinary clinic, the report said.

Carnahan fought with officers as they were trying to take him into custody, police said.

He was arrested on a felony charge of violating an animal facility and on misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass, cruelty to animals, resisting arrest, and theft of property.

The animal was returned to its pen at the zoo.

I cant imagine what a homeless man would want with a sheep? Or why he would think of such a lame story as 'i'm a doctor, the sheep is sick' with the sheep in a trash can. A trash can??!?

HAHA, what a freak and he is using the lamest excuse in the world too, but I suppose at least that excuse doesn't sound twisted and we should all be glad.
Maybe the homeless man is lonely and wants a pet? If he has commited other offends against animals, maybe he entertains himself by touturing animals , thats my best guess.... the streets can be awfully dull when he lives there everyday...

Its not hard to understand, the guy is basically lost his mind and refuses to accept the fact that he has failed to be successful in life. Since he doesnt what to accept that he has become a homeless bum he instead has created the internal dillusion that he is a doctor ... its easier for him to cope with life that way.

Well at least he was stopped before he could have done something to the poor sheep who was just minding its business before this guy tried to steal him.

My guess? Mutton for a month - a new sweater - and some... company.

Glad he was stopped before the poor sheep had to endure more stress.
