i have been doing extensive research on the matter and it is documented on numerous amounts of animal attacks and other violent casings that werewolves are in fact real but there are different types of werewolves. There are three types of werewolves to be precise. One is called Lycanthropic Disorder where the subject believes he is a wolf but never transforms. The second is the full transformation such as you see in horror stories ( there are two different types of transformers, the Alpha and Beta or the Voulantary transformers and the Invoulantary transformers), and finally the third which is a spirtual werewolf where the subject emmits his spirit from the body and the spirit takes the form of the wolf, or whatever their totem or spiritual animal is.

where do you get your info? for i would like to know as much as you say you do. I've loved the idea of werewolf existence ever since i read stories of them when i was a wee pup. thou the disorder you speak of was always an excuse for a-holes like Dahmer to get away with an insanity plea. thou the one known as a spirtual werewolf is one i'm more familer because i've done it once with some good friends of mine that are nolonger with us. it was the most wonderful and scary experiance concidering it was my first time and my friends last crying.gif .

I have personal experience with the Werewolf spectrum of things. Personally, I do not like the term were-wolf, for that is not what I am, though I am a lycanthrope. Shifting, for those of us who are, is not physical, but mental and spiritual. Usually, you realize yourself around the ages of 9 or 10, or at least that is what I have heard. Then comes the real trial, finding a real pack and your position. I am one of the Alphas. My Pack and I have known each other most of our lives, and each of us grew up with a foot in the supernatural. I am Wiccan as well as lycanthropic. I was Gifted with Aura-sight, and empathy which aid me in my leadership. Being a lycan myself (there is a better term used for our Kind, but I remember it not.), I have to say it usually stems from a family branch. My father is an undiscovered lycan, while my mother holds herself proud, thus came my lineage. A small fact is that we (I speak from the experience between my pack-mates and I) crave mostly fruits, chocolate, and rare meats, and enjoy running. The full and new moons find us with more energy than normal, and the blood moon the most so. We do mate. I was originally mated to a vampire (oddest thing I ever did...>>), but then I found my Beta. My Beta and I hit it off very quickly, and soon we were 'lovers'. Being my Beta AND my Mate also makes her an Alpha in a way. It is an odd system that my Pack uses, I could not tell you of others.

NOTE: I speak purley from experience with myself and my pack! Nothing more!

Lycanthropy? not really it seem s to be real only to an extent, but most likely its just a psycological (sp) condition.

From what I read from most of this thread, most of you don't seem to take into consideration the other aspects of what also could be a werewolf. First I read somewhere (ok don't call me crazy from mention something ludicrous that I read a while back) well I read that there is a theory that all the strange half human half animal beings from the past was formed from alien experimentation on the human and animal wildlife at the time, and then set free into the wild. These things could of very well included a group of half humans and half wolves/canines. People could of seen these and started the whole werewolf belief. These beings could of died off but still haunt the places were they used to reside, in other words people could see spirits that in form looked like werewolves. Another possibility is that it could of been a tulpa or various tulpa's created by a shared belief in something (a tulpa is a though form, something that if believed undeniably by one or many, start to take form and appear in the physical world, slowly gaining a mind of its own).
