Full Version: Spirits Whispering?

My mom bought the house she currently lives in 3 yearrs ago. To my knowledge everything seems fine, except for one thing. At night when I put my head on my pillow I always hear what sounds like a faint radio or people mumbling. I can never quit make out what they're saying. I open my windows to check and see if it's the neighbors, but I hear nothing outside. It comes from somewhere in the house. My mom is asleep so it's nothing from her room and I don't leave the tv on or anything. It doesn't seem to be in my room either.

There doesn't seem to be any spiritual activity in the home. So I'm wondering if it could be the water tank or something.

Does this sound like something that spirits would do? What does everyone think?

I'd suggest it's either some appliance running that makes sounds like murmering or it's an auditory hallucination while you're dropping off to sleep (these are quite common). Maybe it's even a form of tinnitus that you only notice while the house is resting at night? I wouldn't overly worry; if you've had no other experiences then I'd say I'm 95% sure it's not spirits original.gif

I remember I used to have a floor standing fan when I lived my mother's house, when it was on I'd hear strange noises like a conversation at a party. Sometimes there'd be what I was convinced were snatches of music also. Took me ages to narrow it down to the noise of the fan.

Sometimes it can just be the way the house is orientated. electric poles or even perhaps
the wiring in the house is picking up frequency modulations, could be?? grin2.gif
Take an earphone device cut off the end where it plugs into a radio, strip the wires and
attache the on the two screws of the faceplate of say your lightswitch. You'll find out what I.m saying your house wiring acts like a freqency receptior. No need to buy a radio, but you
cant change the station? no.gif

I agree with Bebi, tinnitus or similar auditory halucinations could easily explain any and all sounds, or if you'd prefer, the house if it's old enough could expand and contract enough causing mild creaks cracks and wind passages.
