There's literally hundreds, the best way to find one to suit you is by looking at this website ( http://www.mpogd.com/ ) and doing a search. thumbsup.gif

I played www.project-entropia.com for a while.

I found it heavy in RPG (which I disliked), the graphics are good, but outdated and it's free (you just download, create your character and join). At least for a while (ie, you can only get so far without depositing).

Its a massive world, unlike most MMORPGs its just one gigantic server with hundreds of thousands of people packed into it.

The reason I left is I found the community rather elitist and snooty. But you may have a different experience.

PS. FYI, I now play City of Heroes/Villains and I'm finding it rather enjoyable...excellent graphics and loaded with content...they also dominate the current MMORPG market. For a measley $14 ($20 in AU) a month its pretty good wink2.gif

You can download Savage: Battle for newerth.. Its at www.s2games.com .. They have the game available for free download off of the FaQ page in the Forums. This game is basically a FPS shooter, with Axes instead of Pistols. Pretty fun.

My favorite is now, and probably always be...Guild Wars.

You have to pay for the original CD...as you would for any other PC or console based game...but there is NO monthly fee. There are no fees for "extras" in the game. There is NO catch.

You just buy the game, and you play.

What's even better is that Guild Wars "Factions" will be released on April 28th. They did have a free trial going on of that game where you could play a few quests and such, but I didn't have the time to try it.

Guild Wars is geared toward PvP, but there is an extensive PvE section as well with a decent storyline and tons of quests to do.

But....(there's always a but)....if you're a grinder and like to just hack and slash and level up, you'll be disappointed. The level cap in Guild Wars is at 20, and it's not likely to ever be raised higher than that. The game is more based on skills and strategy rather than grinding your way to some killer level and just beating everything and everyone by sheer might.

For some other free online options...and games you don't have to pay for (but you'd better have a high speed connection for the downloads!)

Check out: www.conqueronline.com

And: www.knightonlineworld.com

I like Conquer a little bit better than Knight Online. Both games had/have some server issues but I found Knight Online to be the worst of the two.

The "catch" with both of these games is that in order to get the really, really good stuff.....you're more than likely gonna have to pay real money to get it. We're talking about weapons and upgrades....stuff like that.

Still, both games are fully playable for free if you wish to do so.

But for my money, Guild Wars will always be where it's at.

But then..that's just me.

i just tried kal online recently, wasn't to bad for a free game. the only problem is it is a pain in the butt to register. you gotta go threw a forum and keep finding out ways to fix all the registration goofs. once you get in it's fairly entertaining. gunz the duel is another good one, when its up. you can always try anarchy online, i didnt really care for it though, and the file is a massive download.

i've been wanting to play city of heroes/villains, but i refuse to buy a game, then have to pay just to play it.
