Saw this on the Science Channel. I'm very curious as to what you guys (and girls) think. The landmass this structure is on was last above water some 10,000 years ago.
Yonaguni StructureThis structure appears in other subforums here, but I'm curious as to whether this might imply that a global flood could be an allegorical reference to an ice age.
What are the Biblical ramifications of this structure?

I think these structures are indeed ancient but not biblical in the least. They may have been part a religious oriented rituals but not part of the OT or NT. It is interesting how they were engineered.

There are alot of Underwater structures around the world, and if you think aobut it, it amkes logical sense. Most civilazitons will build their cities near oceans becasue the ocean supplies them with an excellent source of food, and also means of transportation.
But with any city near the sea it also has a risk of being flooded should waters rise higher, or land sink into the ocean.
Wheter it was an iceage or a global flood, or earth tecktonics is very difficult to figure out, and as such should all be seen as possible theories.

I would think that in this case it would be a matter of the land subsiding, rather than the sea levels rising. Japan lies within the "Circle of Fire" and is very geophysically active. The two years that I lived there, we went through 4 earthquakes of 4 or 5 on the Richter scale alone. There are many Japanese myths of sunken cities and towns during Japanese recorded history, most of them tied to large earthquakes. I think that when the archaeologists finish their work, we will find that these ruins are from no later than the Japanese Bronze Age. - Mako

Since the last Ice Age ended about 10,000 years ago, it would only be common sense that the "flood" legends are memories of the water covering land that had emerged during the ice age times. If the underwater Japanese site was about that age, do the math.

Sweet an iceage thing maybe

Well the black sea flooded some couple thousand years ago. Maybe that is hte source of your "Biblicale Flood"
