SCOTTSDALE - His blood-alcohol level was so high that it had the effects that experts say is near surgical anesthesia.

Peter Hickock was passed out at his home in Scottsdale on Sunday when his 5-year-old daughter called 911.

Hickock could face child endangerment charges, Scottsdale police said. advertisement

Hickock, 40, was found unconscious and bleeding in the 7600 block of East Williams Drive, near Scottsdale and Pinnacle Peak roads.

He was transported to Scottsdale Healthcare Shea with a 0.345 percent blood-alcohol content, police said. At .35 coma is possible

Emergency responders found the only food in the house was peanut butter and bread.

The 5-year-old's mother was on vacation in Hawaii and left the girl in the custody of Hickock, according to Scottsdale Detective Sam Bailey.

The parents share joint custody, although the girl is now in custody of a family friend.

she serves as hope at least that when he dies out, she can pass on some genes that wont be a disservice to the pool in general.

Whoa . . . that's a high level, just short of an Alcoholic Coma.

I have worked in the medical field for many years. While a BAC of .400 is generally considered lethal, I have had chronic ETOHer patients that approached .700 and were still walking and talking, not very well mind you, but...
Tolerance happens in all types of drug abuse, that is, if you don't die, you are able to tolerate more of the drug.

Hopefully this means he will lose custody of his daughter and not be allowed anywhere near her again until he can prove he is cleaned up his act.

Having worked in the field, I would guess, that what might happen is she is put into temporary custody and he is required to go into treatment for 4-6 weeks. Then he can present his case for regaining custody. By law, healthcare professionals are required to report this type of thing.
