did you know that in the state of New York it's illegal to have an ornament hanging from your rear-view mirror? beware!!!!
well, it is. I know this because I was 'lucky' enough to get a 60$ ticket for it! and, not as you might think for huge fuzzy dice hanging 9 inches down, nope, a little 1" x 1" ornament, that says something cute.
We got pulled over for speeding, when the officer realized we were going only 5 miles over the limit (WOW the lead foot!!) he changed his mind and gave us a ticket for the ornament.

we contested the ticket, as we are not from New York, but from Canada and here there are no such laws, but it failed....

I tried to find a link to this law, it must be in real fine print..........

In my state you could hang a side of beef from the mirror and no one would care.

here too.... but one day, still while in NY, I saw someone with like 10 pine tree smelly thingies (like my scientific terms) + CD's hangin from their mirror, I was thinkin to myself
"how unjust!!"

I've heard of other states having such a law, forbidding ornaments to be hung from review mirrors.
