The Doctor
Has anyone ever heard of this before?
In New Zealand there what I think is a lodge or a hostel (something along those lines) and there is one room in it that has not been opened for something like 25 years because there is supposedly something evil inside it. The story goes that one man was staying in the hostel and he had this particular room, which he hardly ever left. He would stay in often for one or two days at a time and never really spoke to any of the other guests. Eventually nothing was heard from him for something like four days and the door to his room was locked so two other men who were staying at the hostel managed to break into the room where the found the corpse of the reclusive man. But perhaps that was not all they found for they took the body and left the room immediately, touching nothing inside and locking up the door from the outside. Both of them were severely shaken and would not speak of what was inside the room and it was determined that the man committed suicide. The other two men became steadily more depressed until one day, within a week of entering the room, they both killed themselves. According to what I heard the room stays locked until this very day.

I know none of the finer details of the story and it may just be a legend but I find the story very interesting, I heard it when I was in primary school from one of my teachers who surprise surprise was from New Zealand. If anyone knows anything about this or has heard the story themselves then just tell me if i'm blethering a load of crap.

I've read a very similar story years ago, but I cannot remember the specific details.

I think they actually may have made a episode of "Baywatch Nights" (some weird X-files knock off) based on that story.

Here is one haunted hotel room at the St. James in New Mexico that is kept locked most of the time and is not let out to guests.
There are probably more stories of hotels that keep some rooms locked if we look for them. I remember once reading about a passenger ship that kept a passenger cabin locked
and refused to let it out even though it caused them to lose money to do so.

St. James

Room 18 at the hotel is kept locked because it houses the ghost of an ill-tempered Thomas James Wright, who was killed at his door just after winning the rights to the hotel in a poker game. Having been shot from behind, Wright continued on into the room and slowly bled to death.

Wright’s angry, malevolent ghost continues to haunt the room and he does not like company. One former owner said she was pushed down while in the room and, on another occasion, saw a ball of angry orange light floating in the upper corner. The room holds only a bed frame without a mattress, a coat rack, a rocking chair and bureau which has been made a shrine to the Old West. Sitting atop the bureau is a Jack Daniels bottle, a basin and pitcher, a hand of cards, an Ace Copenhagen tin, and several shot glasses. On the wall is a bad painting of a half-naked woman.

This room is considered by the staff to be the most haunted and people are rarely allowed to enter the room, much less sleep in it. Rumors abound that when the room was rented, a number of mysterious deaths occurred there.

Same here in Houston...

Office Building 1011-South Highway 6 - Workers staying late at the office building often hear footsteps, elevators open as you pass them, things move, disappear and appear in strange places.

The office space which is haunted is now turned into storage space is remains locked.

This legend reminded me of the supposedly kept secret room at the Glamis Castle,Scotland. The Legend goes that there is such an evil inside that room, only the owner of the castle is allowed to know what's in there and passes the secret to his son on his 21st birthday. But one of the late owners got so scared when he learnt the secret that he refused to pass it to his son,so the secret supposedly died with him. There's also a story in which one of the maids of the castle accidentally finds the room one day ,enters it and witnesses the great horror inside. The owner of Glamis at the time speaks to the severely shaken girl after the incident, has her word that she will not talk about this to anyone and sends her to some place far away from Scotland along with her family and a remarkable amount of money.
Glamis is a strange place,afterall.Who knows..... original.gif

I used to live in Glamis :and I've been to the castle many times. The story goes something like this:
There was a man in the castle (not sure who he was) but he was very drunk and he wanted to play cards but couldn't find anyone willing so in a drunken rage he said he would play with the devil if he would come. So then a man dressed in black came to the door and said he would play (this man was supposedly the devil) and they went into the room and locked the door behind them. The servants could hear shouting and swearing coming from the room and eventually there was a flash of bright light and the door disappeared and all that was left was the brick wall. The drunken man had of course lost at cards to the devil and so had lost his soul and was condemned to spend eternity playing card in that room with no way out. It is said by the people that work there that they can sometimes hear shouting and swearing coming from where the room was supposed to be.

At least thats how I think it goes...I haven't been to Glamis for about 8 years and my memory of the castle and all it's stories are a bit hazy. Glamis isn't that strange a place! tongue.gif

As far as my knowledge goes the legend is in fact about a Lord Beardy and a previous owner of the castle who's not into religional stuff that much. The story goes that these two guys start to play cards and do not listen to the maid who warns them about the day after being a religiously important day(sabbath?) and the lords should stop gambling. The castle's owner makes fun of the religional stuff and tells the maid that they will not stop gambling and devil himself could join us whenever he likes. At midnight the devil indeed makes and appearance and the two lords lose their souls in a card game. It's said that the thoughtful-looking ghost of Lord Beardy is frequently seen in Glamis and some nights the swearings of the two sinful lords can still be heard.Reportedly some of the maids working at Glamis resigned and left the castle because of the loud swearings, footsteps and ghostly apparations.

I've always been fascinated by the mysteries of Glamis Castle and would certainly like to visit the place someday thumbsup.gif

I've heard that story, except instead of a maid finding the room, a workman discovered a secret passage and was paid to go away.

Secret room legends,anyone else?

I now a pretty good one but you wont find this on an sites on the Internet.

This story was told to me by my grandmother.

Sorry for an spelling errors in the story.

Around the time of WW2 molokai was expanding for homes in the wailau valley which was over the mountain. 28 men and their familys volunteered to stay in the wailau valley which was actually realm of the Mo'o(lizard guardian) who protected the valley. When the people came into the valley they began construction first on a grand 2 story home were the lead family stayed in. When a week has past an mysteriously an elderly hawaiian man strolled in to the small village. He was dress in rags he seemed normal execpt for one thing his eyes glowed red. when he spoke his voice was as loud as thunder he warned the people to leave now or suffer the conscqneces. The people refused to leave(typical). The old man bellowed a curse he said the first child that will be born in this valley will be a demon who will spill your blood upon the ground to quince its bloodlust.

Two years passed the baby was born from the lead family in the two story house. The child had pale greenish skin, the parents thought nothing of it and raised it. The child was extremely violet as it grew, its body began to change resembling more lizard like each year. The parents kept the reptile like child in a basement and feed it at night to keep him away from the other people.

One night a deafinfing scream broke through the night at the house. every person raced towards the house, they bursted trough the front doors and bewildered a terrible sight. The lizard child stood over its parents bodys its own body covered with blood. Even though the child was 8 years old it stood twice the size of any man, its huge clawed hands dripped with its parents blood, its tail whipped around behind him, and its face resembled the devils with its burning red eyes squashed in nose, and its large mouth filled with jagged teeth. The worst part about it was smiling with its jaged teeth as it stared at the blood that was covering its hands. The people grew angry and rushed at the creature and thats when the slaugther began. None of men stood a chance against it as each one of them was slashed down and bitten by the lizard child.

One of the men ran off back to town to get help hearing the creatures his hysterical laughter of enjoyment as he slaughter one person after another.1 day later the one man who went to get help came back with 93 men carrying weapons and one kahuna(priest). Whan they got back to the village they beheld a horrible site, the small village layed in shambles with bodys of people that littered the ground. They ran off to the 2 story house to find a few people still alive. They ask what had became of the creature they pointed down stairs to the basement. When they got down their they were shocked to find the creature chained up by many of chains that didn't even given the creature not even a chance of possible movement at all.The creatures eyes glowed red, the same smile still on its face the night before. They left out the house with the creature still in it fully locking down the house so that know ones allowed in or out. The kahuna gave a blessing around the house so he creature will be sealed to the house and not leave for all eternity at that moment a shriek of hysterical laughter came from the house.

To this day the wailau valley is a protected preserve for animals and plants and you need special permission to enter but some people who travel deep enough into the valley could faintly hear the laughter and some people who've gone even deeper has caught sights of the 2 story house but they get to sacred to investigate it after the sound of laughter emitting from the basement of the house.

pretty cool right laugh.gif I never gone into wailau valley but I hear from the stories of hikers and scientist who go in there.
