As a matter of fact the place that the body was buried is the only place of the island that is deserted for some reason.

Maybe people are afraid to live near that location...

I am surprised that Greece is not more popular for supernatural behavior, because of it's age and heritage. After all, the country where someone like Socrates lived-and died, must have it's stories of abnormal behavior.

Palmtrees are not native to Turkey or Greece. As for the similarities, those only exist between the coast of Turkey in the Aegean and as it used to be part of Greece. Other than that, we have actually many ghost stories to date. We were just a bit busy with the olympics if you know what I mean



Rome is city, Greece is a country, Romans build more than just A road and quite frankly probably the very roads you are using now. I am sure at least one person in Rome will have a basement and at least one of them will be said to have a haunting of some kind. Please refrain from posting like that before you attend some of your geography and history lessons. You may actually appear to be sentient next time.



Actually there are countless places in Greece that have local legends to match the most bizzare tales out there. I suppose we are people think Greece in terms of sunny seasides and holidays. If they only knew....

Here is another one I recalled. The plains of Marathon in Greece are said to be haunted from the spirits of the 6000+ persians and 200 something Greeks that fell in the legendary battle. Some have reported battle sounds and weapon clashing, while others even claimed to have seen apparitions of the warriors locked in eternal battle.

That story for the Marathon battle it is true,I have also heard about that!!
Some scientists believe that all these happend due to the accumulation(i don't know if its right ) power caused from the battle!!The texts says that the local residents was hearing for months those voices!!

It probably should be. Unforntunately, it seems that it's more about the hype and what people claim though right? What if each culture reacts different than others regarding the paranormal. There will always be reports about hauntings and encounters, but these days it seems that the most haunted places are just the most reported. If you go to a well known supposedly haunted location, then of course, you will bring yourself into the environment which manifests your imagination. This has to be taken into consideration, because it becomes difficult to really determine if it is energy being felt, or is it just the heebie - jeebies.

If you know that the place you are is haunted,your imagination may tricks you and make things that really don't exist,for example you think you saw a ghost but in the reallity theres nothing!!
I have this kind of feeling especially if i saw a psychological horror film!!

isnt greece where mt. olympus is? there was sposed to be a haunting at one of the stadiums,the ghost of a gladiator on a cart thing was sposed to be haunting the grounds.

So i think that the most ghosts appearances in Greece is from old battles and wars maybe cause the huge history of the country!

Yiasas . Im a Greek that lives in Australia, and have been to greece many times.
I find it interesting that Greece is a very religeous country and Australia is not.
In Greece, nearly everyone has a story of how they, a family member or a friend has seen a Saint. In Australia, where people are not as religeous, people see ghosts not Saints.

My family are from lesvos. The only ever ghost story i have heard from our town, is apparently during the occupation of Turkey a man was hung. During the anniversary of the hanging, at night you can hear screams where he was hung.

But when it comes to Saint sighting, i have heard many many. I could easily type several pages on sightings that Ive been told about.

I'm starting........I have never seen a ghost

Well I've never seen a ghost... ...but I saw a shadowman once in my house when I was 14-15 years old.

It scared the hell out of me I couldn't move from fear.

I had also seem peoples shadows!!!

I hardly remember that this day i was ill and i was sleeping in my parents room!So when the night i wake up (round 12 i don't remember very well) i couldn't see hardly nothing from the room everything around me was "white" the only thing i saw is some kind of peoples shadows!Then i started to cry and screaming and my mother and my brother came in the room,from that time i could see again everything right!!!
There was nobody in the room when i saw these shadows,and i wasn't sleeping cause after this happend my older brother told me that i had my eyes opened and looking like a crazy the room!!!
Only when I'm thinking what i saw I freak,it was really very scared and weird!!

I've searched info on the net about these things and I've found that they are not ghosts.

It's more complicated has to do with negative energy.When a room has negative energy in it or when u r scared or sad or something bad u might see one of them...

It's all about negative energy... LoL so be happy to be sure that they get away...

Maybe cause that day i was very ill!!!

Well when i was in Kalamo with my cousins we we're sitting in a corner out side it was summer time and my younger cousin went upstairs in the house to get something and i saw this weird hooded figure it was so freaky.
