I'm sorry people,,,but I think that you guys are still missing the point here! You all seem to be taking this thing WAAAAY TOO SERIOUSLY!!!!

This show IS NOT about Psychics, Mediums, Ghosts or Haunted Houses, NOT AT ALL!!! This show is simply about RATINGS and MAKING MONEY. "Most Haunted" is ONLY a Television Program and these people might call themselves various "impressive" things,,,but by and large they are primarily performers and they are doing an internationally acclaimed hit T.V. Show!

Don't take such offense about this,,,it's JUST TELEVISION! Trust my word on this one, I am in "The Business!" I know what this is about! It's no different than when I go to Warner Brothers and shoot my episodes of "The West Wing," or any other show that I do in Hollywood! It's acting, it's entertainment! The only difference is that "The West Wing," "CSI-NY" and the other shows on which I've appeared as an actor don't pass themselves off as "Reality Shows."

This show is almost as much a "Reality Series" as the movie "Grease" was an "Historical Documentary."

Just relax peeps and take this show for what it is,,,A FRIGGIN' TELEVISION SHOW! Sit back, watch it, enjoy it, laugh about it and have fun! This is why it's called "The Entertainment Industry!"

They have...it's called "ghosthunters". the group on that show doesnt try to prove a haunting they try to debunk it first. if they can't explain a certain thing through science and reason then they're left with only one other option-the paranormal.

I believe that it is fake. I only watch because I like the sites in Europe. I find out other information about the sites after the show. I can't see how EVERY single show some one gets possessed?????

in reality possessions works nothing like that. on the one hand i'm really shocked that there are people who believe it's real, but then that sort of thing has been going on all over the world since about the 1870s. really how anyone believes Derek is very gulable. though there are times when i start to think he might believe it himself...

I don't think so, I've known about them since before their show. They don't always find stuff like the people on Most Haunted. . .it's always a tell tale sign of fakes when they always find evidence no matter where they go.

Oh, and you guys all know this because you've seen it for yourselves, right? I don't see any of you investigating haunted locations. How dare you assume that Derek is a fake? You lot wouldn't know a ghost if it bit you on the ass. You don't even know this guy, what he's experienced and what he's been through. I'd like to see you lot try and do a better job than he does. Just try. See for yourself what it means to be a true ghost hunter. Let me how it turns out, and be sure to take a picture because God knows I could do with a laugh.

Well said Acenaspheru. I've always watched Most Haunted for the same reasons as yourself. I'm interested in the locations they visit and I also research them myself after the show. I feel that Derek's "possessions" are a way of telling the local legends of the area in a way that ties in with the program - and also gives him a paycheck if the guides of the locations told us all the legends then Derek would be out of a job....

Actually, I DO go ghost hunting. I use EMF detectors and digital recorders. did you not read the page where the scientist on the show actually came out and TOLD everyone Derek was a fake? He even did a number of things to prove it. . Here's the link:

I am trying to write everything I know about the Spirit World good and bad and you can believe everything I say as the Truth although you don't have to agree with me.

I have never seen the Show being discussed here, but I know when they make a film it no doubt has a lot of truth in it but to make it more interesting they may throw in a bit more Theater so that they keep their ratings and entertain people.

When I make posts on here I am writing about 20-years good and bad about the Experiences I have had as I communicate with the Spirit World and I think everyone should know when you communicate with Spirits sometimes you are dealing with the Spirits of Relatives and others you have known who have died and although we would like to believe they zipped out of their bodies and sprouted wings and flew up to Heaven and they are up there blissfully happy looking back at Earth from the land of Milk and Honey but the truth is as we know many people die from all sorts of causes and when their body dies here on Earth for whatever Reason their intelligence and memories both good and bad go right along with them and how well they adjust to their deaths and their life in the World beyond Death can and almost always depends on the kind of life and Death they had.

And I think it should be no surprise that the Victim of a Killer might want to come back and torment the person who killed them and took their body away and cut their life short and now they have to watch the World from a Place that they went to long before their time.

i could be wrong but i don't think he was paid to do that. and obviously you've never been on a real ghost hunt because you'd know it's nothing like what you see on tv. some people do have gifts for comunicating with the dead. if derewk really is one of those people than he's messing himself over by being "possessed" in almost every episode. i understand you like the guy, he seems to have a very interesting personality, but personally i wouldn't trust him as far as i could throw him. if anyone is trying to make a fast buck it's him and he's doing a really good job at it too. when he does a stage show for free and get's a %100 hit rate on everyone in the audience, then i will believe he's what he claims to be. until then he just has better manners than other big 'psychics'. so far i have yet to see anything to make me believe he's real. i could go on a stage or tv and do what he does with the same hit rate. it's plain an simple guessing when it comes to reading people, and quick research when at a location. almost everything he says can be applied to every building in the UK over 100 year old. nothing supernatural here, just a good memory and goos personality reader.

I read somewhere that Derek has Multiple Personalitys and that when he gets "possesed" its just one of his personalitys coming through. And I know most of the stuff is just fillers since it is rare for ghost activity to happen, exspecially every night they go somewhere. But do you think that there could have been 1 or 2 happenings that are not faked?

Who Knows? They'd never tell you the difference anyway...

As for the multiple personalities thing,,,I don't know about that,,,actors can do these characters easily!!! I'm an actor and I can do what this Derek dude does when he gets "possessed" with no problem,,,and I BARELY have one personality to my name!

I imagine it's a little of both. i think for the most part they're scareing themselves. i mean my walls pop all day and night and i realize this is not supernatural. they probably do too, but if you stick someone in a dark house alone and tell them it's haunted, they're going to get scared and it'll be worse with more than one person because they'll scare each other. i believe this is a lot of what's happening on this show. a perfect example of this is friday's when Yvette was scrying, and incorrectly at that. if you stare into any surface long enough it will start to change, but not due to any spirits. i have tried scrying myself. it doesn't work on an empty mind. she knew the place was supposed to be haunted so her brain told her she was seeing something that simply wasn't there. i don't use such methods in ghost hunting because a lot of the time it'll just spook the others. the only thing i've ever seen that i think could not be a combination of imagination, dark, and trickery, is the table that did appear very sollid that just slid across the floor with richard in the basement. i can't remember what episode this was but they did have the camera angled so you could see the feet and legs and the man across from him didn't actually touch the table when it moved. there are unfortunatly way too many other explinations for this to be really beleavable but the fact you could see all of the people, the whole table, and only richard had his fingers on it lightly, gives it a bit mor entegrady.

If its fake then why did Most Haunted officialy release that footage / sound track so it could be aired on " The Scot Mills " show BBC Radio 1.

I keep seeing that footage with post notes about how thats been uncovered when its not been covered up at all.

i dunno... i watch the show and am awed time to time and laughing all of the rest. Nothing says that they can't pull pranks (as I believe that footage was) on each other and perhaps we are misguided a bit but hollywood is a montage of deception. I don't know if anyone saw the halloween special (i have it on my computer so I have seen it several times, the one with the witches) and the thing with the cross was creepy but so middle of the road creepy that you weren't sure what end of the spectrum it was on. Made up for effect because the glass trick isn't enough to keep me watching is probably isn't enough to keep anyone watching, or if something really yanked the paper. (even so.. why yank the paper and not just the cross?) I think derek has talent. What talent that is differs from episode to episode. Personally I can swallow some of it but I know that if ghost sitings and paranormal activity were so easy to scoop up I wouldn't be so interested in it.

Its obviously not on the up and up, or at the least for entertainment purposes. If these guys found enough real evidence of ghosts to fill a series, then there would be more scientific research to back it up from the rest of the scientific community. I mean, if I went out to Loch Ness and hosted "Scotch Talk, with Nessie and the Shadamaun" every week, SOMEONE better qualified and with more credentials would have to take an interest and validate my little show.

anyone watch that episode when uri gellah paired up with Derek? that was interesting to watch, also i don't know if anyone watches ghost towns when he goes to random peoples houses and does a reading for them, how can you explain that?

what i do find suspicious is when they do most haunted live and something "dramatic" happens they hever get it on camera, they say that they never filmed it in time, very suspicious. i also read his book and it's a interesting read but i have no idea if it's true or not.

I'm quite surprised that most haunted is fake? i remember quite a few episodes where they got solid footage on camera, remember when they went to America and got the ghost to turn the tv on? there was no one near it, or the time that they were in that tunnel, i can't remember the location but it was in England, some spooky stuff happened there, i just love to watch the show, LOL i can also remember when Derek was "possessed" when they went to that hotel and he sat next to Yvette in the room and she said why don't you do something to prove you are there? and Derek said "you want me to prove something? huh? i will show you proof!" and he lunged at Yvette XD

it doesn't matter if anyone thinks it's fake or not it's a great show to watch because of all the stuff that happens on that show. but i do agree that Derek gets possessed far too often, i have never seen any other medium get possessed that often ever, i would have thought it would be dangerous.

Ive hated that show since I first watched it. I like ghost hunters better because they accualy find things and accualy dont, and they have it all set up probley after their investigation like walking thru the doors with the camera focusing on them but I really like ghost hunters more then that show.

I would REALLY enjoy seeing Derek Accorah get possessed just before he gets the money for doing Most Haunted or from his books.....and the possessing "spirit" makes him destroy the check/cash....now THAT would be paranormal entertainment!!!

What I find funny/infuriating about the live shows is when they get people sending in emails saying things like...

you could see that Derek was trying to hold his laughter when he said "Mary loves dick" i was also watching the 100th episode last night and again something happened in one room and they failed to get it on camera again *rolleyes* i don't know if anyone was watching last night when they went back to the old house that they went to in 2001 the men in the room said they saw a monk feet in the fireplace and this is when they "failed" to get it on camera.
