AMEN to that!
Diary of a Monster
yea i think you should own at least 5 different cameras, and wear them at all times just to go on the hunt (proving you know how to zoom in and zoom out would help also). And bring at least one crazy guy. Cuz this way if you think you see anything hiding in the bushes just tell the crazy guy to go in there and see whats up. O yea this crazy guy should be wearing a steak around his neck And he should be basted with honey.lol

Well I'm glad we didn't scare you off with our responses on the other thread I just one thing though to think about in the rather short time I have been here I have come across a person who claimed to be werewolf, one who claimed to hunt wendigos and several who claimed to had encountered with supernatural bigfoots. And I'm sure there are other crazy claims I have come acrossed those are just the people that come to mind off the top of my head. I hope you understand now why myself and others had doubts about your plan 30 people is alot of people get to go on a crypto hunt especailly when you consider that even among those that believe in cryptos the jersey devil is consider to be a myth by many.

Is thread for real or a joke....I know a tracker from jersey and i have never heard him say anything close to this...If there was a JD in the area i but my money on him....But sense he does not claim to have seen one i find it hard to believe a kid found one....
Dragonic Darkness
I'd be scared out of my mind to go looking for anything supernatural... You can never tell what can happen in the future if you tick it off.

There are people here in Australia who spend heaps of time out searching for the yowie. They often get bits and pieces, even vocals but to date no clear picture and the public wouldn't be happy with anything less. hmm.gif

Wouldn't it seem that if a person could stage a 30 man crypto hunt in the woods for days, he or she would be more professional sounding and use better grammer? tongue.gif

Hahaha! That reminds me of a story my dad told me about when he was younger! He grew up in Texas, and there was this one area behind an old graveyard, way out in the middle of nowhere, where there was supposively a bigfoot. My dad and a few of his friends went there one night to "catch" it. They all grew up hunting (most people in texas do) and they were all pretty good at tracking and stuff, so they thought they'd go there and shoot whatever it was. I guess they all just thought it was a joke and went out to prove a point. Anyways, my dad said they were out there for a while and they were about to go home when they heard something "really big" moving around in the woods. (like I said, it was out in the middle of no where. . .most places in texas are) and they thought it might be a rogue cow or something from a farm nearby, so they shot at it (being careful not to hit it in case it was a cow) with their shotguns. Whatever it was didn't pause, but instead started coming at them faster. They shot at it some more, but it didn't slow it down, so they jumped in my dad's truck and took off, but they left their one friend who had driven there on his little mo-ped. My dad said that when they took off, the one little guy was stuck trying to get his mo-ped to work. They were all the way at the cemetary gates before they stopped and looked back and my dad asked "Should we go back and see if he's ok?" and his other buddies started saying "no" that he'd be okay. And right when they were about to leave they heard the tell tale "put puttering" of the little guy's mo-ped. The guy rode right passed them, and then pulled around and everyone was on top of him asking him if he'd seen "it". And he started telling them "I don't know what that thing was, man, but it was f--king huge! My bike finally started going and I didn't look back, man!"

Hahahaha, just an interesting little story. I'm waiting for my dad to call back to tell me the name of the place, cause I forgot. I thought the little indian guy on the mo-ped was hilarious. hehehe. Supposively a few of them went back again later and "ran" into it again. It was supposed to be very aggressive. The place isn't there any more, from what I understand, everything got torn down and they built houses there or something. I can't remember. ..

You heard me say it doesn't exist laugh.gif

If there was 30 guys camping out here and not in a campground. We would of pegged them with the thermal imagers we use on the UH1Bs (Hueys) Ft. Dix gave the Forestry Service and they would of found about 60 tickets.

I really don't know why anyone would want to look for the Jersey Devil. I mean, don't get me wrong, I've loved the Jersey Devil since I read that book "The Eye of the Devil", but isn't it mostly considered just a legend? Even by many cryptozoologists? Wasn't there like a real estate hoax or something that was used to try to scare residents out of their property? I read about it in one of my Cryptozoology books. Besides, these days, alot of unidentified animals are labeled "Jersey Devils" how many of them actually have a horse (or donkey) head and wings?

I too like the jd, (were close, so i can call him that) but staging an expidition for him seems..odd, especially when it is so mutually accepted to not truly exist...still i could be wrong. yes.gif

hunter of all legends:

I am very interested to know the area of the Pine Barrens where you performed your search. From many accounts I've read, Bottomless Lake seems to be a popular area of many Jersey Devil sightings. Also the area of the Pine Barrens were the Shroud's house (Leeds Point, NJ) is located seems to be another popular destination. Since the area is so vast (two thousand square miles of SE New Jersey), it would be very interesting to know your area of concentration. Please advise

If you pull up a USGS topo map of the Pine Barrens there is no "Bottomless Lake". There is "Hidden Lakes" where people from Browns Mills, Toms River and Howell go four wheeling all the time. That is where most sightings occur.
Leeds Point is all salt hay fields and brackish marsh. It is also a yuppie town loaded with antique shops.

Thanks Piney! I got my facts confused. I meant there has been a lot of sightings near Blue Hole (a small pond that is purported to be bottomless). Apparently a couple of years back a group of scientist had come to Blue Hole to determine its depth. They did so by attaching a large weight to a long line of cable. Much to the surprise of scientist, the cable kept going down, down, down, & never reached its bottom. Despite the fact they had additional cable, same results.

What's so odd about this area is most of the ponds, lakes within the Pine Barrens are very murky, brackish in appearance, whereas, the Blue Hole remains well.........Blue. Also the water is frigid year around including the hottest months on the calender June, July, & August!

Of course this topic has already been discussed before on this board. It was originally created by greattenchim in July of 2005. Here is the below link:

The water in the Pines is tea colored but it actually very clear with a high visibilty. But if you go into the deep parts of the swamp where the water comes up out of the Raritan Aquifier is is very blue. The same with all the gravel pits back here. Wherever there is a sand mine that hits the Raritan it fills up with blue water. The Blue hole is a old artificial pond, probably a marl pit that hits the Raritan and the "underground currents" take the string. That legend about the scientists is a "rural myth". As for Jersey Devil sightings. The Blue Hole is a hot drinking and partying spot. Those kids see a lot of crap.

K, I the place is outside of cleveland, the cemetary is called Wells Cemetary. The woods behind the cemetary might not be there, my dad heard that they got tore down to build a subdivision. . .like I said before. Anyways, just some interesting tid bits of information. So anyone that wants to hunt a bigfoot instead of the Jersey devil, there's the place. . .if it's still there. .heheh
