This week in spy history (3/7/90) - Play Misty for me.
The CIA stages a fake satellite explosion of a KH-11 spy satellite code named Misty which was in low earth orbit. Both American and Russian sources reported Misty's destruction, but amateur astronomers have shown that this was a deception to allow it to achieve a higher, less detectible orbit.
