Nevertheless, I definately believe in evil, Satan, Demons, etc. I certainly believe that there are many forms of evil in the world right now,,,in both human and non-human form.

I have watched documentary television shows on The History Channel, The Discovery Channel and PBS that seem to conclude that "666" was the numerical code for Nero Caesar, as has already been mentioned on this thread.

In any case back in Jr High and High School I knew a dude that had a birthmark on his' head that looked almost exactly like three 3's. Maybe his' 333 meant that he was half evil. Maybe Satan was running a test to make a half-antichrist! After "The Omen" was released, this guy kept the hair around that birthmark shaved so that he could show it off and freak ppl out with it.

Hmmm,,,I wonder what that guy is doing these days? Maybe he's getting ready to take over HALF of the world.


One correction to "angry's" post: Although The Hebrew language does have corresponding numbers to letters, I believe that this particular manuscript was written in Greek, which also had numerical values to letters and vice versa...

Yes,,,the 666 thing is from the Christian New Testament and as Jews we don't have the New Testament in our bibles.

However, don't feel bad,,,some Christians think that we Jewish people are evil too.

I believe it is the nuber of devil that appears in the Revelations. Some people say it designates a name, but who knows what it means?

ugh... when will people listen... infact make a note of it. 666 was a mistranslation a monk made in the 4th century. the number is infact 616, and was reffering to the emperor Nero of rome. as Nero was fond of throwing christians into pits of lions and watching them get ripped a-part, which he and a lot of others found exciting, like the gladiater battles (though they had strict rules and 2 refferees).

Actually it really is an interesting number. Consider that the number 7 represents God. Then the number 6 would represent Satan as he is the next most powerful entity besides God himself. Consider the Holy Trinity...then consider the UNHOLY TRINITY which the number for that would be 666. I think that explains the number. But what relevance does that number have today? Consider this: the number 666 is found in every set of numbers from 1-1000. Well, so what, every number has that in common...yes, but...consider that we live in an age of numbers...so that now, everywhere you look you see 666 because the repetition of sequences of 1000 is practically infinite. But what does that mean? Maybe, perhaps, the Beast isn't a 'person', nor even a government, but rather a Global Entity....actually a Global System of which no one can escape.

Also consider this people: you already have a number....all these folks that say, 'Oh, I would never take the number of the beast, I'd rather die first'....you already have it.

Hmmm..Mark of the beast..If ya believe in that sort of thing, my mind would take me to what ways would there be of such a thing happening? In my humble opinion, it would be credit cards? Everywhere ya look, more and more places only accept credit cards? Now what if one corporation secretly took over all the credit card companies, or already has? Would that mean this corporation is the beast? I'd rather think it would be some greedy ppl in the end, but who can ever tell?

I hope that this isn't anti-semitism I am feeling in this post! Even if it isn't, thats a very rude thing to say to another human being,,,especially a stranger that you don't know, don't you think?

Frankly, what I know about Christianity is probably more than what you know about Judaism.

By merely watching the movie "The Omen," I know about the 666 thing and the anti-christ, but thats a still a New Testament teaching, it's NOT in The Old Testament, which is OUR Bible. I know that it's not in our bible because I read my bible daily and I know that this does not appear there.

As for what I think about Catholicism? I love it! I have always had a very fond place in my heart for Catholics, and here is why: I was educated in Catholic Schools for the first 5 years of my academic career. Where we lived in my primary school years there were no Jewish Schools, so my parents sent me to Catholic School. I participated in everything at the school that was required, INCLUDING MORNING MASS AND CATACISM!!! I was taught to say The Rosary and I still remember everything about it, including "The Creed," "The Glory Be," and "Oh My Jesus!" I can repeat all of those to this day, and that was more than 30 years ago! I learned these prayers and I learned about the Catholic Faith, but it's still not my personal beliefs,,,I am a descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and I am a Jewish man. I learned a great deal at Catholic School though and I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to get that education.

In Sacred Heart School, I was treated extremely well and respectfully by everyone in the entire school, regardless of the fact that I'm Jewish. No one ever tried to convert me, no one picked on me or ridiculed me for my faith, and every year I was asked to give a talk before the class about what we believe as Jewish people! I felt as if I was bridging the gap between my faith and Catholicism! I personally loved the Nuns who taught me and they all seemed to love me.

After the 5th grade, we moved and I attended Jewish School,,,but I'll always be thankful for my Catholic School days!
