Hey, I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this really suspicious deodorant commercial??? I've seen it about 3 or 4 times and every time I do it makes me thnk it's some kind of pre-event hype for the anti-christ.

The commercial has this guy clothed in a yellow hooded robe, on the left heart/shoulder area of the robe is a symbol. The symbol is a pyramid, with a snake inside it, and there's seems to be rays of sunlight coming up from behind the pyramid near its' peak. The person wearing the robe tells this one guy to join the Order of the Serpentine (may have misspelled serpintine). He tells the person it will cleanse his soul. Then finally right before the end of the commercial the guy in the robe holds out a thing of Axe deodorant and says something along the lines of using it and joining the Oder of the Serpintine will cleanse you and you won't smell anymore.

The whole thing seems WAY too suspicious to me. It's just a commercial, it didn't hypnotise me or anything, lol. But it is still really weird. For one thing you have no idea it's even supposed to be a deodorant commercial until the very end. The Order of the Serpintine, along with the snake in a pyramid symbol, with sunlight breaking behind it. The pyramid with the sun behind reminds me a lot of the pyramid on the 1 dollar bill, except no eye or cut off top but the illumination at the top of both is strikingly similar. It just doesn't make sense to me; think about it, they're advertising to a Christian nation.......so why talk and show something that looks and sounds like a satanic cult? It just doesn't make sense, very weird. If anybody else has seen it let me know what you think of it.

I don’t know about any association with the anti-christ :/, but that muscular woman really freaked me out.

lol, yeah me too...

OOOO, check the stuctural strength of the roof, ol' Mako is agreeing with the Christians! I don't think it has anything to do with the "AntiChrist", I think that Madison Avenue is poking fun (in a very tasteless way) at religion. I personally have used Axe, but will not in the future (just as soon as I empty my 5 gallon bottle). yes.gif

I agree with the theories above. It could also be a minor viral marketing ploy; They know there's fascination with secret societies, so a commerical like this would arouse interest. It worked, clearly.

And by the way, it's spelled serpentine.

I have some now.

ahhh, you think the company that makes "Axe" body spray is going to sponsor the Anti-Christ???

Christians are so presumptuous; Axe is merely a deodorant company idiots. How old are you guys? It seems to me that you have a lot of time to think about this commercial, and other bull sh** conspiracy theories, don’t you have jobs? Maybe you guys could find work at the local EB games that might be to challenging for your intellect. Looking for the evil gremlins a little to hard boy’s, maybe you like the sound of your own virtual voices. I was merely looking to watch entire series of Axe commercials and found your inane conversation. Dismaster needs to set you straight, grow up and do something more beneficial to society than questioning simple TV ads on a forum board. By the way Christians do not make up the nation, people do, and you should look beyond your pathetic ideal of religion and stop segregating and fragmenting humanity.

As a very hardcore gamer i am appalled by your article. And if thats how your going to act you are not going to get to many friends on this forum. I do partly agree that there are many useless topics going around but you could have siad it a little lighter rather than in sulting everyone at UM. I had to learn to calm down to but you seriously need to chill. Though i am christan i do think that the conservatives are a bit wild.

first of all, how can you judge millions of people who are Christians by saying they're all presumptuous?

sounds like you have alot of hatred, depression and easily angered about a thread of a commerical that is taking from the Bible that does seem evil?

just because you don't wanna admit it, it sounds like they're putting that in there on purpose, there's no way it's done by mistake

and you're right, Christians don't run this nation, idiots like you do.

the only thing fragmenting humanity is people like you, to have hate towards good people.

I wouldn't like to say this, and I can't myself but people like you shouldn't exist.

you should be banned for flaming them.

Whoa calm down. Deep breaths ok. He doesnt deserve to be banned. I do agree that the christian conservatives are a bit wild. They attack everything. I also agree with you as i have stated in a previous post that if he does not chill he is going to get in serious trouble. But you are not a moderater and do not make these descions.

I find it strange how someone can be that bothered. It sounds like a cry for help by a lonely kid imo.
I dont understand the christian relevance either? huh.gif I find you presumptuous by the attitude problem!
Welcome to U.M by the way. original.gif

Anyway,not seen the advert.
Either its thought up by some freaky director with an interest in Sci-fi,NWO type stuff, comics, etc .
OR ,The Illuminati are now showing us their secret symbols (because of more people waking up?) to hide the true meaning of their plans and label it all as "far out conspiracy theories" or a bad Dan Brown book.Misdirection and half thruths.

Clam down dude i have seen enough to form an opinion on something. I have browsed the forums for a while. Thanks for welcoming me but i really dont think violence on t.v. and games is wrong. Its just entertainment. But i do think that that guy is gonna get banned.

I've seen that commercial.. I don't know what to make of it.. but "personally" I just don't like it therefore I wouldn't by it for anyone I know.

But who cares.. I'm just the woman of the house that does ALL the SHOPPING. w00t.gif

I find this bit of juvenile humour amusing.
Its as if some drunken frat guy will wake up from his stupour and some illuminatiesque druid type is there to save him from the ribbing he's going to get from his house mates.

Yeah, its probably in bad taste, but so is advertising in general. At least its something fairly unique, and not some CG animal pimping their product or service.

btw... The fact that we are actually taking the time to write this means some Ad Exec is brilliant.
lonelyalpacafarmer
I think it is an obvious attempt to brainwash America's deoderant users into becoming pawns of this "oder of the serpentine" *cough* NWO *cough* How blind can you people be? The NWO has taken over the worlds governments, AND a major deoderant line, and yet you refuse to see the facts. When will the good people in this world open their eyes and stand up against these supressors and mad men?!?!?!!!11one1!

I was out at the bars two nights ago, and they were passing around samples of Axe body spray, with pamphlets of the order of the serpentine as well. The pamphlet is titled "Living with shame caused by a questionable hook-up?"

user posted image

Funny thing, both my buddy and I hooked up, and spent the night at their place. The thing is that I felt dirty and ashamed of myself afterwards. I was so crunked the whole experience was surreal, and I only remember bits and pieces. She was attractive, but I don't like doing one night stands. I ended up leaving my t-shirt, and keys at her place. I don't remember her name or where she lived. disgust.gif

Does this ad campaign push casual sex as something to be proud of?

rolleyes.gif Did you really feel it was neccessary to start more trouble? What are you, 12?
BigDaddy_GFS
You know, I've had a wierd feeling about this ad, too.
Is it my paranoid brain burning too rich a mixture of caffiene in the wee hours of the night?

Or is it somethng more snister than a mere deodorant commercial?
Celumnaz
lol I finally saw this ad and I was in "alert" mode before I realized this was the commercial I read here at UM!

Something in it struck me as odd too. That's as far as I can go with it.
Tengu
*giggles* arguing about a commercial? I think you're all silly.

I was bored and net surfing and came across this, and OMFG, are you people that paranoid? The AXE company is making a brilliant and somewhat humorous campaign that capitalizes on america's recent fascination with secret societies and their symbols like the Masons and their spoof on Simpsons, the Stonecutters as well as all the Dan Brown books and the DaVinci code movie not to mention National Treasure. Although I disagree with their marketing strategies, there is nothing sinister here. If you watch TV, you'll see that tag stole the initial axe advertising strategy of "use our product, get laid", so they came up with something different. Now its reprehensible that they claim their product will wash away hook-up shame, because some dimwits (like ones who think its an actual secret society or the antichrist) might have sex with questionable women and end up getting diseases or a pregnancy, thinking shampoo will wash it away, and it also glorifies casual sex and makes light of it to our kids (although on occasion I amguilty of it myself). Do you think that an actual secret society would be doing national tv ads and shampoo promotions? No, they'd be controlling world leaders, not horny adolescents who think their product will get them laid. If you go to their web site, which is mildly funny and amusing, you'll see its just a viral ad campaign by some brilliant ad execs that was meant to generate buzz, as it obviously is doing. Lastly, if you look up serpentine in the dictionary, you'll see that it is defined as someone who is "subtly sly and tempting", meaning that someone who lured a guy into a questionable hook-up (Hence I just explained the name).

Why am i writing this "thesis"? Because I got really bored at work and needed something to do, and was really amused by how stupid people can discuss the inner meanings of shampoo ads when there are none.

Now go back to discussing important conspiracies that actually might be true, and stop trying to find meaning in your life by catching conspiracies in TV and viral ads.

You remind me of the people in the 1930's that heard the War Of The Worlds broadcast on the radio and started panicking and rioting. Please, discuss things that are actually important and get out of the house sometime and get some friends/girlfriend.

Thank you for your time and patience reading this. Now time for me to get back to work...sigh...monday.........
Celumnaz
hmmm... shampoo? is that a code word?

I think you are the second guy who created an account just to post in this thread. That's not a good sign...for anyone. unsure.gif alien.gif

So, has anyone actually joined the order?
rapid7

I find this worrying. The Axe advertising campaign is either merely a coincidence or actually a cold calculated attempt to misdirect people. huh.gif

Although it is probably a coincidence I have personally seen evidence which seems to suggest a real cult of the serpentine or brotherhood of the snake actually exists. It would also appear they’re the big leaguers in terms of secret societies. alien.gif

i would have to agree with you on that, i definitely dont see "christians" running the country, i do however see them mobilize for causes like pro-life. You can always tell what they are gonna vote on each and everytime. Everyone has the right to vote and nobody should hold a grudge cuz they vote however they wanna. If anyone has a problem with this then join an association that votes opposite and mobilize that way. keep it simple.

The fact is simple... advertisers need to make the people remember the advs... so they have done it in a way which is wired and they have succeeded in doing it.. as you will never forget this advertisement and the product.
