Did you see the show on one of the educational channels where they are pretty sure that they solved that case? A detective who was obsessed with the case discovered that HIS OWN FATHER who was a Hoidy-Toidy Hollywood physician was the one responsible for those murders?

I've never met anyone who had a thing for serial killers...

The latest Robert Pickton, he claims to have killed 49 women on this Pig Farm outside of Vancouver BC. He apparently dismembered them and fed them to his pigs... what all "great" horror flicks are made of. First 6 identified victims have led to his conviction of murder, life in prison. Only 43 more to go.

In regards to killing quick I say yes but only if they don't deserve to feel it. If I figured someone deserved to die by my hands I know enough about human anatomy to keep them alive for a long time.

If I were murdered by someone regardless of how it's done then too bad for me sh*t happens but whoever does it I hope is creative.

For a lot of people, it is how the remains are diposed of that really say a lot about the killer. Those who kill and just leave the bodies lying around just don't put the shivers down most people's spines like those who mutilate and dismember the victims.

I don't live in the US so i'm slightly ok. But anywhere you can get murdered. it's also the population as well there are about 12million people in N.Y alone.

In my city there are only 300,000 people in our entire country just over 4 million

I guarantee you there are serial killers in NYC and they just haven't ever been caught...

Also how do you know who the wrong person is? In most cases such killers look like everyone else and in many cases they live in middle class neighborhoods etc... If you think your life is not at risk simply because of your neighborhood you just naive.

Has anyone ever heard of David Parker Ray? I don't know much about too many serial killers besides him and Charles Manson.

Well, anyway, a friend let me borrow this book of hers titled Slow Death, a true crime book. Basically, he kidnapped females and sexually abused them. No, sexual abuse would be an understatement. This sadistic Satanist absolutely tortured his victims in a trailer he called the "Toybox," which included whips, chains, pulleys, straps, clamps, leg spreader bars, and surgical blades and saws. I was totally shocked, yet couldn't seem to tear my eyes away from the pages of the book as I read about how he placed a clamp on each of this woman's nipples, then turned on the machine as it sent excruciatingly painful jolts of electricity through her body, or how he inserted hot cattle prods into women. I shuddered as I read the words of his "intruductory" audio tapes that played to the terrified victims soon after being kidnapped. If he didn't kill them, he would heavily drug women to the point where they couldn't remember anything. This was known as the New Mexico Sex Torture Murder Case, and Ray was considered the sickest serial torture-slayer ever to stalk the southwest.

I strongly recommend this book. It's...ugh! I don't even have any words for it.

Oh, yeah, and David Ray was sentenced to 224 years in prison in 2001. The judge set his bail at $1 million - in cash.

The question is highly subjective. What makes a killer more evil? The amount of victims they kill, the brutality they use, the relative innocence of their victims from a moral perspective, the age of and sex of the victim?

I would say the most threatening killer to a wide innocent population would be someone like the night stalker, who killed randomly and by using force, rather than conning his victims, and randomly entered houses. There was nothing his victims did to set themselves up in terms of being naive or working an illegal job, they just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. But objectively its hard to rank evilness. Nobody will agree on the standards.

I have always been a fan of Jack the Ripper (so much so I wrote a paper on it...) and the Zodiac killer, two major killers in history whom have never been caught...

I've read so many of their stories, you could make a case for just about any of them.

I don't know about the worst, however I live not to far from Snowtown where the worst Serial Killers in Aus history plied their trade.

John Bunting and Robert Wagner were truly twisted, I can't remember the exact stats however they were pretty mad.

The thing is that Robert Wagner is the uncle of one of my better friends. How close to home is that...

As for the worst Dahmer was pretty sick and the Zodiac never got caught which is pretty scary.

Richard Leonard Kuklinski was a convicted murderer and notorious contract killer. Known as "The Iceman", he worked for several American crime families. He claimed to have murdered between 33 and 200 people over a career that lasted thirty years. Evidence has been found on nearly 100 of those admitted. He was the older brother of the convicted rapist and murderer Joseph Kuklinski.

I may be off on this because I came into the topic after many post had already been made, but browsing back through, I dont see The Iceman mentioned anywhere, which is odd due to his hight rate... are we not mentioning him because of his connections to the crime families? lol

I think Jeffery Dahmer was the worst serial killer. not for the death count but for what he did to his victims.. .. .. but thats just me

I mentioned him earlier in this thread as I had read the book about him. Last night I watched the two documentaries on A/E in which he is being interviewed, first by a psychiatrist and then I guess a lady reporter. I have to admit that from watching and listening to this guy he was scary. He died two years ago in prison where he was serving out a life sentence. What's interesting is that the cause of death is stated only as natural causes and nothing more. Perhaps he was poisoned?

John List- Westfield, New Jersey. lived in an 18-room mansion. one day in 1971 just flips and massacres his entire family. kills his wife, mother, and his three teenage children, and runs away to Michigan. The bodies were rapped up in sleeping bags, and all laid in the ballroom of they're home, with catholic music playing. the bodies aren't found for a month. in Michigan he starts up a new life under the alias of Robert Clark. in 1989 he was finally caught and arrested through an anonymous tip. in his trial he said that God told him to do it.

This case is really interesting on how he did it if you get all the details. there are still many questions criminologists couldn't answer for example where the family dog, tinkerbell went because it was never found. the original house isn't there anymore, the List house mysteriously burned down sometime after the murders. the police knew it was arsenic but if you live anywhere near Westfield, you would know that they let it go because they have that cocky attitude of thinking they're to good for anything and everyone. so don't bother tryin to check it out, they even took the address number off the street.
