I do wonder how Lizzie managed to get rid of the blood. There is a story of her burning a dress but certainly more blood would have been found if she did it.

It was also said that her sister had given a death bed confession in which she said that she had withheld information crucial to the case of her murdered parents to benefit Lizzie.

But anyhow, This is an intriguing case,a nd if it had taken place nowadays, I'm sure it would have been solved.

Also, if the stepmother was murdered upstairs and hour and a half before the father was murdered downstairs....it would most likely be someone in the house (As stated earlier) I would also assume that someone getting chopped up with an axe wouldn't be too quiet.

During the aftermath of the crimes Lizzie was awfully shady and inconsistent with her allabies and what not.

PS: I hadn't heard the story of the retarded Half-brother before, that is very interesting indeed.

That is a myth. It never happened. original.gif

Agreed. There had to be a lot of forensic evidence left behind.

If you read the actual trial transcripts, Lizzie was very consistent with her alibi and her timeline of what happened that morning.

Lizzie Borden took an ax
And gave her mother forty whacks,
When she saw what she had done
She gave her father forty-one.

Do you think she did it?

There was a documentary on tv a couple years back. Yes, it really happened. Only it was her Step-Mother. Then, after killing her with the ax she killed her father who was sleeping on the couch. Creepy old story.

I'm definately going to do some more research on this grin2.gif
