when i joined i was my member # was a couple off i thought

now it is way off the last person that joined

have we banned alot of members in the last year or something ?

have we lost these #'s somewhere or am i just remembering it wrong ?

Banned members still retain their member number. There's no way that the numbers can change. It's still the exact same number that you had when you first signed onto the board.

maybe im not being clear

our newest member Foundation Stone is listed as member # 31286 when you put your mouse over them

but it says we have like 31188 active members

seems like a rather large descrepancy

im saying i dont think the desrepancy was that large when i joined

i know im probably making something out of nothing

im just curious is all wink2.gif

did Saru sell those 98 people into slavery ? unsure.gif

edit: opps, it's 31183 registered users not 31188

wait...saru should be listening to this thread...selling spammers into slavery...unless he already thought of it...how did he pay for UM's latest sexy upgrade again?

Banned members are not deleted, however some member accounts, such as those created solely as 'Google Bombs' or which contain offensive usernames and other similar things are deleted. This doesn't happen very often, but a hundred or so over the course of the five years sounds about right.

The other possibility is that the discrepency came about due to changing over from one forum system to another, which happened two or three times back in the early days of the site.
