I wonder if they have tornados very often in that state? Seems it was Ohio before in March?

Why do people live on the Pacific coast, with earthquakes and tsunamis?
Why do people live on the East cost, with hurricanes and tropical storms?
Why do people live in the midwest, near a sleeping Supervolcano?

It doesn't really matter whether or not an area has experienced many tornadoes. The fact is, they can happen anywhere. It's just more likely to be in the flatter, more open areas where the hot and moist air can meet with the cooler dry air. It's funny because, technically, Kentucky isn't classed as being part of Tornado Alley - this has been open to debate - yet it's percentage of tornadoes rank at F4 and F5. So far, these are the most violent on the Fujita scale. An F6 has been questioned in the past due to the events back in 1974.
It may not be as common in Kentucky, but it's common to a degree and will continue.
