Full Version: Jesus' second coming during the Apocalypse?

I believe that there is no apocalypse in the sense of the word and that Jesus will not come again to save us because we don't need him.

We can change the world ourselves. We can learn to love each other and live peacefully but we can't wait for him to teach us. We know how; you know how you love your family?

We are destroying the Earth but we can stop. There are already so many things we can do to stop the greenhouse effect.

This seems so unrealistic though doesn't it? It will be as long as we believe it can't be done.

If there is such thing as Jesus and god why would they want to save us, we have made all these problems ourselves. Maybe the heaven and hell theory is, we do good as a human race and we will be saved...if not we will destroy ourselves and god, jesus whoever won't be there to pick up the pieces for us. Basically were on our own.

First sensible post I've read all day, Its time to set aside our diety toys and start making changes one step at a time and the irony is the every act of setting aside these 'toys' will free us up to actually contribute to the health and well being of the planet...and humanity...the solutions are often so simple we miss them IMO

I think the Apocalypse began with the advent of the printing press. The dark ages were then over, and people would have the opportunity to access information and dare to think for themselves, about what they had previously been told was true about the word and gods plan. Often times with their backs turned toward the Priest as he gave the homily in Latin. An educated tongue that few if any of the peasant faithful would understand.

And each time someone dares brave that which is hidden from them, that which inspires the curiosity to reach for more knowledge, is yet another invigoration to what many have appropriately termed "the end times." For once the intellect is inspired to reach beyond and breach the darkness (ignorance) it is the end. And the beginning.

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." (Revelations 22:13) And I am, and that is, my life. (all life, imho)

People like me and you can live peacefuly and love others, but that's as far as it goes. Not everyone is like this, nor will everyone want things to be like this. There is no way possible for humans to change the entire world without divine intervention. Either accept it for what it is, or admit that we need help changing the world.

Just my 2 cents.

Excellent post Qarrah...you are right I guess...only we ourselves can make the changes...We dont have to wait for anyone to save us...we can only save ourselves

ZeroShadow, not everyone is heartless and evil.

There are more people who want the world to be a better place than there are people who don't and even they want it to, a little bit.

I didn't say change would happen in seven days or a few years. There's not enough hope in this world, everyone just sees the bad because the news only tells us about the bad. I don't believe we can get rid of crime or hate. But we can influence those people who have a desire to do so. We're all stronger than we think. Everyone wants redemption, whatever the form.
How about donating some money to the Red Cross or picking up some trash when you see some?
Little things count too.

I gotta say, I like ZeroShadows explanation.

Its so very true. Not everyone is nor wants to live peacefully.

The world is full of great people capable of great things.

On the other hand, the world is full of people who hold a grudge against everything.

Hes (Jesus) coming back to change things, believe it or not. But when he comes back....hes not going to be a wimpy little man. As the bible says, hell be coming back as a powerful judge of some sort, with all the powers of hell at his mercy, right?

That is something I fear.

Jeff, many have been taught by their religions that they can't live peacefully becasue they are inherently sinful and worthless, this is a fallacy...why would one choose to hold a grudge against everything , i'm not following this logic......
Jeffryw
I understand it may seem hard to follow.

Wether or not people choose to believe they are inherently sinful is their choice. Im sure theres always been good in everyone.

Why people hold a grudge against everything I cant explain. Theyre heartless maybe.

The Apocalypse IS COMING... but i personally don't care... i think it would be a favor to the Universe if the all planet would be blown off, and with it all the litle human genes.

and btw, according to the bible Jesus is not coming during the Apocalypse...The Apocalypse is suppose to be a time of judgement for the wrongs donne.

as to change the wordl ourselves... good luck... let me know how you intetn to do that, and how you intetn to reach all the manicas in the world, and convince them to live in Peace with you and the rest of the world... give me a call when you're donne. thumbsup.gif
