Hey I'd like to know what your opinions on the best music score for a move are, mine is without a doubt the beautiful Edward Scissorhands music by Danny Elfman...anyone else?

Danny Elfman is excellent. I liked Red Dragon, A Nightmare Before Christmas, a lot fo his stuff.
I also like JNH. The Village was an interesting score with a lot of violins.

Just scores, not soundtracks, right? I'm a big fan of the score for "Jurassic Park". The score for "Willow" is also very beautiful.

Requiem for a Dream
The Hours
Star Wars (Of course

)
And although it's technically a TV show, Battlestar Galactica has lovely music.

The X Files also has some brilliant musical moments...especially the film I think Mark Snow did a great job bringing the music to big screen.

Battlestar Galactica has lovely music.
Second this also. Very, very close to the music of the game Homeworld.
I think maybe the same people wrote them.

"Peter Ibbetson" with Gary Cooper in 1935. I'm not sure who wrote the score but the theme piece is beautiful, almost like its weeping itself.
Also the theme piece for the old Romeo and Juliet is great.

Also the theme piece for the old Romeo and Juliet is great.
I heard Johnny Mathis sing it live on old studio style TV in the 60s as a little girl. It was even better than the recordings. Beyond wonderful. There is a lot of deep spirit in that song.

Never heard of Homeland, let alone the music, but it doesn't mention anything on Bear McCreary's website about it.

Gladiator or The Rock. Pretty much anything by Zimmer is genius.

No one mentioned Donnie Darko yet, which I thought had a fantastic soundtrack. Of Course none or not a lot of it was composed, but everything fits PERFECTLY WITH THE SCENES.

Pretty mych anything by Danny Elfman is excellent. Besides that my favorites are in no particular order:
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
Millions
28 Days Later
Princess Mononoke
The Truman Show
The Mighty
March of the Penguins
These I can listen to over and over again without tiring of them. And I agree with what others have said, Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet Sountrack is beautiful.
I don't have it, but I think the soundtrack for "The Power of One" is awesome too.

My favourite film score would have to be Gladiator. I also like the score for Star Wars Episode3:Revenge of the Sith. It has a darker tone to it which I think suits the subject of the movie.
Anything by Danny Elfman is good, very recognizable.

Star Wars - no contest. Though the Phantom of the Opera musical is most awesome as well, i can't in good conscience really classify it as a movie soundtrack since it was originally a stage musical.
And I know it's a TV show, but Star Trek: Voyager has one of the most beautiful theme music score's that I have ever heard.
