It is with great hesitancy that I once again dive into the topic starter role. Iam feeling quite brave today so here goes....
When my grandmother first came over as a young girl on a ship from England her family settled in the mountains of Idaho, USA. When she was about 13 there was alot of activity at night near there reclusive farm. The cattle and other barnyard animals would get all riled up alot. My great- grandfather said it was just coyotes and not to worry. The next few weeks my grama's mom and her would walk the fencelines to check for breaks because a few cattle were disappearing and even a large goat. They did not find a fence down but did on two occasions see to large hairy animals walking on two legs one light hay colored and one dark chocolate colored. They were standing in an adjacent field from them. They would just stand and stare at my grama and her mom. They ofcourse went screaming back to the house to get my grandpa and he would go out and see nothing. This happened 2 or 3 times and all the times my granmother said her and her mom got two different feelings from the beasts. The light colored one gave off a almost docile, kind presence and did not particularly scare them. But the dark one was menacing and made them feel in fear of harm to them.
Ok, to the point of this thread. One night it rained like hell and at about 9pm there was a noise at the front porch like someone walking on it, something big. Then the front door knob was being turned back and forth. My great- Grandpa got his rifle and called out to who it was and the knob stopped turning and they heard something back up away from the door.
My great-grandpa opened the door and shone a light on the porch. Standing there in the light were two young white men. About in the mid twenties. They were wearing full dress suits and clean cut young men like going to church or something. They said that there car broke down on the road up the hill and they came here to the light of the farmhouse to use the phone. My grandmother remembers that there shoes were so sparkling polished and clean. She wondered how these guys came walking all that way in a rain storm in the mud up to there door and didnt get there shoes dirty. My grandpa said no to using the phone and lied and told them they didnt have one, even though they did. My grandmothers mom pulled my granmother to her and said do you feel the presence of those animals we saw here with these two. It was true, one had sandy hair and a gentle feeling about him and the other dark hair and eyes and a disturbing, angry presence about him. M y great grandfather closed the door telling them that they would need to walk up the same road a mile or two and there would be a payphone near an abandoned filling station they could use. They did not stay and were heard to jump off the porch with a loud thud , not using the steps. This was a high porch, so my greatgranpa opened the door to see what they were up to and they were gone, nowhere in sight. He went out and looked around and no one on the drive path to the main road and they could not of got very far. It was creepy and the family was tense most of the night. After that night no creatures were ever seen again and no more strangers dressed for church came calling. My grandmother and her mom figured all the years after that it was the two bigfoot they saw in the field. Thats why they got on the porch and turned the knob and did not answer the grandpa. Then when confronted with people they changed into an image of perfect humans, yet keeping there hair tones and dispositions the same. That is why the clothes and shoes were not dirty . This is weird, but then again my grandmother is from England and a little limey sometimes, like the mermaid she saw on the crossing when sailing over here.
Do you believe bigfoot change appearance to protect themselves sometimes. What do you think happened that night? I dont know , its a little out there. Who knows, maybe.
I am not good with paragraphs and grammar so just deal with it.

interesting story but the shape shifting is kinda hard to believe not starting trouble. but its kinda weird to think about what if the person sitting next to you was a big foot in quise? that would be weird you would never ever know it too but i dont think something like that is possible but ya never know.

Hmmm... interesting story. I'll admit, I've heard of shapeshifting type stories associated with BF.
One question though, the bit about the men on the porch. It struck me as similar to some "men in black" encouters I've read about. Did they ever see any type of UFO activity around there?

No, not that my grandmother ever mentioned. This was the only weird thing to happen in at that Idaho Farm. They lived there for 27 years. One night when my grandmother had grown up and her kids were grown and off. She was visiting her parents for two weeks at the farm and she went out the back porch to get some water from a very large porcealan bathtub thing that held rainwater and had a heavy board covering it. She moved the board and as she was dipping for water she smelled an awful smell and heard breathing behind her back. She turned and a light colored Bigfoot was standing one foot from her, she did not see it clearly in the dark and only could make out a big shape , bi pedal and very furry. It ran towards the treeline across their back yard area and stopped and looked at her for a few seconds and walked slowly into the forest. She never screamed or reacted to it outwardly. She was not afraid of it. She had the feeling it came for the water too and was interupted by her coming out. Thats why it was so close to her , she suprised it. Only that happened in all those years. No lights or ufos at the time of the first few sightings and the men who came. Why woud men in black lumber around a porch at night and turn the knob?
I dont know what to make of it. I have always discounted any connections of bigfoot with ufos or anything weird like that. It is a descendant of Gigantapythicus I believe. Just a mammal and nothing more. Just dont tell my grama that.

Yeah - those are pretty much my feelings on BF as well.

That's why I asked about any UFO type sightings. Given that there were not any I'll admit I'm stumped as well.

Interesting story.
It would certainly explain how they've been able to avoid detection.

Well, this would explain the whole matter of BF type creatures not being caught though seen regularly for decades, even it's *a bit* incredible. But hey,if you
can and
do believe in BF then you most certainly can believe in shape-shifting beings anyway
Personally I've begun to think that BFs are from some parallel universe/dimensions that somehow find their way into ours at certain times, seen by numerous people but never get caught alive or dead.I mean, come on,what else can be the reason we still don't have even a deceased specimen of BF type creatures?
That's just me,though

Well, that seems to be a rather fantastic claim. In the event that there were those hairy creatures there, then that stuff is pretty weird. What strikes me as odd, though, is that if they ran whenever they saw your grandparents, for what comprehendible reason would they be trying to get into the house with the people they flee from? I don't think there is any logical reason to link the creatures with the two gentleman that happened to wander to the farm, though I would most certainly question their presence quite a bit. Furthermore...how would a Gigantopithecus make its way to Idaho?

The Sasquatch that was encountered in the back yard 35 years later ran away. The two that occured back when my grandmother was 13 stood there ground and just stared. They were approaching the farm closer and closer in the preceding days leading to the men. I said the animals and livestock were anxious and disappearing.

There are many, many reports of bigfeet trying to enter cabins and homes by turning the doorknob or bashing down the door. Its curiousity like with bears and other animals that get into homes, food odor probably.

it is a very interesting story, but i doubt that bigfoot can change shapes. I really believe that he is just another undiscovered animal that is highly intelligent.

Shapeshifter ? it's far less credible than a rare species rarely seen... please don't fall in ufo and government conspiracies for bigfoot like chupacabra !!!

Shapshifters are a great idea! I hope they are real!!! I love the idea of the african ' skinwalkers' and the whole idea is simply fascinating.

Interesting story, I've also heard of people saying sassy and ufos are connected but don't go with that theory.

Bigfoot is actually a hair of Chuck Norris' beard that accidently gained sentience.

I know bigfoot are mysterious beast that can speak your own language.
Can make you loose your way back in the forest. Can shapeshift and likes to hang around
with people inside the house to play jokes or get some of your stuffs.
That is one creature that roams around the earth a long long time ago and until now.
