Full Version: Dreams that come true

I've been having dreams like this for what seems to be my whole life (I'm only 18, almost 19), but the first one that sticks out a lot happened when I was about 9 or 10. I had a dream that my mom's friend's daughter was killed in a car accident and a guy was with her. Three days later, I woke up and came into the family room to find my mom holding the phone, looking horrified. I asked her what happened. She told me. The same girl I had a dream about was killed by a drunk driver the night before coming home with her boyfriend from a date.

This experience traumatized me. At first, I didn't want to tell my mom the dream I had because I really believed that I had killed her by having the dream. About a month after the event, I finally told my mom and she told me it wasn't my fault.

Not all of these experiences have been quite that bad. For example, back in November of 2000, a friend was going to come to see me over the Thanksgiving week. I was really excited about this (mostly because the friend was a guy I really liked), and the night before he was supossed to leave I had a dream that his car broke down so he couldn't make the trip and he called me to tell me that. The next day, that happened. I was kind of freaked out.

The most recent and vivid "big one" I had was back in high school. In August of 2001, before school started, I had a dream that during a 7th period class I was in a class room with light blue walls and three doors-- one leading outside, one leading to a hallway, and one leading to a small weird room. I was sitting at a table with a guy who obvoiusly liked me even though I didn't return the feelings and made that known. The guy had dark skin, hair, and large dark eyes. The teacher was lecturing and it was raining outside. The rain then got harder and harder and the door leading to the outside started being sucked in and out. The door came open and rain sprayed in. It was then taht everyone realized it was a tornado. I ran into the werid room and the guy follwed me. "I'll protect you," he said. I replied, "No. I want Jason." (Jason is my boyfriend and the guy from the second experience I described.) This dream was unusally vivid in detail, but not of an odd nature-- ever since my freshman year of high school, I'd have two tornado dreams a year, though a tornado never happened.

Anyway, the school year started and right off I saw things similar to the dream. I had photography during 7th period in a classroom with light blue walls, three doors (one leading outside, one leading to a hallway, and one leading to the darkroom), and a dark haired, dark skinned, large-eyed guy named Paul. After the first month of school I could tell Paul like me even though he knew I had a boyfriend. A week in November came. On that Monday, I remembered my dream and was telling kit to Jason. We laughed and I said, "I hope it doesn't happen this week!" That Thursday, it happened. It was so much like the dream except for a few points:
-The door wasn't pulled all the way open. We managed to bolt it in time.
-The lights went off after we had all figured it was a tornado and I went into the darkroom (which replaced the weird room of my dream) and Paul followed me, saying (in a mocking tone of voice), "You wanna be with Jason right now!"

So, are these conincidences or something else? I used to be kind of skeptical, but now I'm getting weirded out...

No...I think that sort of thing happens to everyone, to a greater or lesser degree. People only use about 10% of their brain, so maybe some part of the other 90% has an extremely advanced form of intuition, that touches some people more than others.

It's also possible that you don't remember the dreams exactly as they happened...people very seldom do remember dreams after all, but when something similar did happen in real life, you filled in the blanks yourself, without knowing it.

I sometimes have dreams that seem amazingly similar to things that end up happening...I do just put it down to a mix of intuition, and my own mind playing tricks on me.

thats cool ((Klebs)) .. its kinda like knowing the future .. happy.gif

But if I were you .. I would be more care full .. like if I had dream like those and I know that they might become real .. I would take some advantages of the dreams to help prevent something bad happening in the real world ..

Also Agree with ((Seraphina)) .. I have dreams sometimes .. but only some lil parts do occur .. as an ex: haveing a dream walking in a hallway .. after a few days or sometimes weeks .. I remember my self walking in the same hallway some where else ..

This is what I was thinking was happening, but I'd go back and look at my dream diary (I write my dreams down as soon as I wake up) and all the details are there, also. Though, this could have happened with the first experience I described since I didn't keep a diary back then.

This is so true! From now on, when I have a dream that "feels" like these felt, I will tell people, especially if they are involved in the dream. (Though with the tornado thing, no one at the school would have listened to me... They never listen to anyone... I'm glad to be out of there!)

I never was able to predict early enough to tell someone. I dreamt of 911 a few weeks before it happened, but you know who could I tell.

Who knows maybe the other 90% lets you forsee the future.

I've had my share of dreams that come true so I know what you all mean.I think that even though the future is changeable.Your dream shows one of your memories from the future, either from this dimension or another. To me it's like if time doesn't exist, and if we can relive in a sense our memories why not see a memory from the future in our dreams. When we sleep our subconscious takes over & time being created by us is only a measurement to our conscious. That's my theory on dream precognition. It's kinda strange but that's what I think happens

im sry... but im a stickler for correctness

it is true that u use only 10% ofyour brain but only at one time

u use ALL of your brain, only 10% at one time

sry to have to correct you but it bugs me when people state facts wrong no offence to you but i HAD to correct it

Actually, both statements are incorrect;

hmm, curious. I've known at least one person who has had dreams like this. Myself, I don't have them as dreams. I'm fully awake at the time. I vividly saw my grandfather's death, down to all but two details. It was dark when he died, and there was lots of people around. I also saw my ex-girlfriend get shot, in vision, and knew exactly where she was shot because of this. (LDR, I wasn't with her/didn't see her in person). So uh, whoo? I also remember waking up at the exact moment the first plane struck the WTC, on the same day. Had a bad feeling, to sort of quote/paraphrase Star Wars "as if thousands of voices had suddenly been silenced". Bah, I'm done. Thanks for sharing, sorry to have rambled, and I hope you don't see anything too terrible. Sweet dreams. ^_~

Sounds like you may be entering the time stream in an obe or something like that. The stream you're entering maybe of that which relates to those close to you,or in someway effects you or those close to you.

When I was younger this use to happen to me all the time. Even to the point that sometimes something would resister, and I know what color car was about to come driving around the corner, or some small almost insignificant thing like that. That was until I was about 17, and in England - I think it was off the Scottish coast or something, my memory fades with age, lol. But the day before it happened I dreamed of a huge oilrig that was going to explode and burn in the open sea. I told people at work, because the dream was so vivid. The next day Piper Alpha oilrig caught alight Of the Scottish coast! Everyone at work kept there distance a little after that, lol. But that was the last major dream I remember that came true.
