Sometimes, randomally, I will be watching TV or playing on the computer when I feel sort of heavy. Then, most everything becomes loud, except for the stuff that is loud. Example - Instead of hearing the TV, I'll hear the A/C blowing. Then I start to feel like I am going to fall over on the surface Im on, even if it is level. Does anyone experience this and/or know what it is?

Dunno but I'd guess and say that it's something to do with an ability to channel your senses to certain things...like hearing a person talk in a loud room.

I agree. It could also be that you are entering a different state of consciousness.

I wouldn't suggest what your experience is. This is for you to determine but i would tell you that I have similar experiences, especially on the days I am practicing dilligent mindful meditation and awareness. For example I'll be walking down a high traffic area and the sounds of the cars will drift and I can hear the birds loudly. The traffic becomes back ground noise of sorts. Perhaps your mind is doing something that is completely natural but confusing because it hasn't been trained that way. My children have the same capability...I like to think of theirs as selective hearing though.

I'm not a doctor, but it sounds similar to Meniere's syndrome. It effects everyone (who has it) differently and is very difficult to diagnose. The heavy feeling can be a result of the air pressure change, this happens to me alot, and I feel like I'm going to fall over, sometimes I feel like I'm going to float away, I have the same problem with my hearing. It's worth a try looking into on the net; there are many great sites out there. I know how weird it can feel, I think it's worth looking into as you may have other symptoms and not know it.
I don't think it's anything to worry about, barometric pressure changes can have this effect on anyone, also you may feel it more if you are prone to high or low blood pressure.
This may be something you might want to discuss with your DR.

probably some form of a trance (like before OBE as said earlier)
Do you zone out *kinda* when this happens? or experience something similar to "
zoning out" (best way i can describe it

)

Yes, I had the feeling yesterday, (right after seeing a UFO for the second time in my life) and I layed down, sprawled out, and let my mind kinda go over. It felt as if I started floating, only for about half a second, then my wrist twiched and i felt normal again. I kinda got mad at myself for making my muscle twich on not letting me float to where I was going.

I have no clue, though zoning out and becoming increasingly aware of your surroundings is a possible suggestion
