I think I have imps in my house, I looked up what they usually do, like steal things then put them back and stuff like that and it all fits. I've seen one and my mom too

, we went to a shaman or medicine man, he was indian, and without us saying anything he right away said that there were imps in my house (3 of them). I would like to know how to get rid of them or at least more info about them.

Hrrmzzz, why would you come here?? If this shaman or medicine man noticed your problem straight away, would you not go there for advice? Is this legend part of your heritage? Why do you believe you are plauged by imps? Surely you do not explain a vaugue memory as lone cause to believe such a mythical creature would inhabit your domain? What do you define as an imp? Your shaman or medicine man seems to be the one to talk to, to come here, amongst strangers to ask opinion stinks highly of hoax/silly story.

Wow, I must not have anything better to do than just come in here and post about things that I made up or imagine, I know what I saw (for a few seconds but still saw it) and it wasn't just me (ofcourse you wouldn't believe that either), I asked a question ,if you know anything about them, you can choose to believe they are real or not that's your problem, but in my case I have no choice. I know you have the freedom to post all you want but please keep your comment to yourself (that's all some of you guys ever post, your crazy or its your imagination) but I would like some help or if possible more information about imps, so I can learn more about them and possibly how to get rid of them with a talisman or something like that. The shaman told us that they where in our house he lives 10 hours away and is a busy man, he couldn't travel here just for that and if he did it would probably cost alot. If things get bad then we'll have no choice but for now I think I may be able to do something. I wasn't very clear about what actually happened so here it goes; it was about 9pm and I left my bedroom door open abit and turned the lights off (this was way before the shaman) I went outside to feed my dog, came back to my room and was about to open my door and turn the lights on when I herd some noise, the hall light was on so I could see as I opened the door(which I did very slowly) when I see this green ( different shades of green) thing in my room messing around with my Gamecube controller, it saw me and made a weird noise like a girgly sound and very fast went under my bed. I was there long enough to see that it was about 4 1/2 feet tall, red eyes and 3 fingers( or claws whatever you call them). That's what happened, again any help or info would help alot, Thanks

Thanks alot, that helped.
The things that happen here are exactly the same as what I read on wikipedia, that brings me back to a story my mom told me a year ago, it happened twice(not all the same), she saw my sister asleep in her room (youngest sister), then she closed the door and went to the restroom but someone else was there, she asked them to hurry up and my sister answered, she got scared and checked her room again and she wasn't there anymore. The second time she saw my niece run by the kitchen and go to her room, she followed her and found nothing, she got scared cause my niece was at school that day. My older sister heard steps, her and my mom were in the kitchen, she checked the hall and she saw her son(the lights where off so she only saw a shadow), or what looked like him anyway run into the bathroom, she turned the lights on and looked around and found nothing. She checked on the baby and he was asleep in his crib, which by the way he wasn't big enough to get out of. So I guess they can really shapeshift, we're going to get a priest to come over and bless the house, hope that helps.
If anyone finds anythings else plz post. Thanks

Why would you assume it's an Imp, I'm sure there are plenty of imaginary things you could come up with that would do what you said is happening. You might have a boggart or a bogie. Maybe a bogle or a brownie, and thats just from the B's. If you're going to believe that the fact that you misplace things means you have some mythical creature playing tricks on you, then you may want to check this site out

Have yourself checked out medically first before taking the leap to imps. Bring in an exterminator. Could be rats.
Also, plenty of people make up stuff to post. Thats human nature.

lol, are you reading the whole thing? or just what you want to read.
If it were rats, or my memory sucks(about the lost things, your memory is not to blame when you leave your wallet on your bed, go to the restroom come back and its gone, go back and see if you dropped it somewhere come back again and its right there where you left it before and it happens 3x a week), I wouldn't bother to come in here I'm not crazy, or imagine this..ALL I WANT IS SOME INFO ON THE DAMN THINGS OR MAYBE JUST RANDOM COMMENT ON SIMILAR EXPERIENCES, I DON'T NEED NOR WANT YOU TO BELIEVE ME IF YOU DON'T WANT TO. What do I have to do, go to a mental institution get evaluated mail it to all of you, then interview the exterminator MAIL you a tape for you to even consider this is true? I am not 100% that its imps, but when I add all of the things going on and try to match that with a poltergeist, fairy, unicorn you name it, the closest thing is an IMP, that's how I came to this conclusion, I didn't just out of the blue said" OH, THEY HAVE TO BE IMPS" Read the whole thing then tell me what you think, don't just focus on stuff you can call me crazy for.

Yes it is. If I saw what I thought was an imp or demon, I would go directly to the doctor. I would be afraid I was loosing my mind.

I am scared somewhat, but this is not new, it happens every once in a while no matter where we live it just keep following us I guess. My whole family has seen/heard something growing up( and no, there's no mental family history, it would be better to be a little off than to even consider this might be true) Its weird though, this only happens alot when we have a baby in the house, it happened when my niece was a baby, then now with my 1 1/2 year old nephew.

If the thing is 4 feet tall as you claimed in one post, and it scooted under your bed, why not just bend down and grab it? And if it likes your gamecube, maybe you can set some sort of video game trap for it.
Just something to note: search engines are for information, forums are for opinions mostly.

I just tried to reply and my computer messed up. . .so I guess I'll have to type it ALL over again. . .
My friend used to have them, but she called them something different. I have also heard them called "dark elves", not implying that they are evil, but just that they prefer dark places and like to play tricks. I stayed with my friend for a while and saw them in action. One time a broom disappeared, and she looked around and said "Ok, not funny! I really need that you guys." And she went back a little later, and it was there. If they aren't being malicious, then I wouldn't get rid of them, they can be helpful. Try talking to them, maybe it'll help. I'd love to have some in my house. . .they could find all the things I lost WITHOUT their help. hahaha.
And while we're on the subject of imps. . .has anyone read the myth surrounding the Lincoln Imp? It's really entertaining.

I seldom comment on these boards but I do enjoy reading them. What I find interesting in all these posts is that many are cynical to things they do not understand and are quick to judge. I'm not saying there is or there is not such things as imps and the like. It is not my place to judge the validity of the claims. To do so would be hypocritical and contrary to my ways. I prefer to keep an open mind and learn. I find the discussion about it interesting and thought provoking. Blessed Be

If the boards are thought provoking, that is a great thing, pity it does not appear to have too much of an influence on certain members.
There are also a great deal of things in here people do understand. Unfotunatley, if one's mind is made up on what they wish to be real, no amount of factual knowledge will be accepted. in fact, I rarely see one being cynical on things they do not understand, but more likely cynical on things they
do understand
There is also a difference between being open minded and being easily led. I for one prefer to listen to facts and go with what we know to be true, not what we want or wish to be true. Should something go against the odds and prove me wrong, I should thoroughly enjoy the suprise, not to mention the new learning curve I could take. Things like that make life interesting.
Don't be too scared to jump in, it is not judging at all, it is offereing your opinion and adding to sides of a debate. The only people here with the right to act on judgement are mods. Everyone else simply offers an opinion. Should not compromise your religious beliefs.

I understand that believing in a little monster playing tricks on you is hard, seeing all the movies and such helps you to think they're not real that that stuff only happens in a movie. Even if I were to have proof, a video tape, or a pic, most of you would say that it was made up that it was a stuffed animal or something, but as long as you know its real, that's all that matters.
I believe in poltergeist, but is there proof that they exist, for example, a video of flying chairs and moving sofas, I believe in that and alot of you do too, so if that's real, then that leaves lots of other possibilities open.
