user posted imageA man has been charged with criminal damage and threatening behaviour after an alleged incident outside showman David Blaine's box. Stephen Charles Field, 38, was arrested early on Tuesday and taken to a south London police station. The cleaner, from Godalming in Surrey, is alleged to have climbed a scaffold support tower connected to Blaine's cage and to have tried to cut the line which delivers water to the American illusionist. He was released on bail and is due to appear before Tower Bridge Magistrates' Court on 30 September. Blaine is taking part in an endurance test, staying 30 feet (nine metres) off the ground in his plastic box, with only water, for 44 days. Blaine, 30, who has taken part in similar feats in the US in the past, is 11 days into the London stunt. He has been taunted by people hitting golf balls at his box, a female spectator partially stripped off beneath him and he has been woken by drumming. Laser pens have been shone at him - which reportedly caused concern because he thought they may have been from rifle sights.

Tormentors have also thrown eggs and bananas and even sent a burger up on a remote-controlled helicopter. At the nine-day stage, using a microphone in his box, he said: "I like watching people eat, actually" - but said he was thinking about food a lot.

I don't like this Blaine guy, but no one deserves this type of treatment. If he had too put up with these type of people then it really is a test of endurance.

although i don't quite understand why Blaine wants to do that magic endurance thing, but i have to say that that cleaner is stupid and brainless by attempting to cut his water supplying line.should throw that guy to a few weeks behind bars......totally stupid and dumb act.... disgust.gif

Hitting golf balls at the box?

Surely you can't do that in downtown London?

People can be such animals.... Grrrrr devil.gif

I happen to dig Blaine. There is something sexy about him.... What I like the most, is when he performs on the streets. He does it in regular places, where it can be considered impoverished, low income; where the kids and people probably rarely get to see illusions. (Unless the mailman makes their checks disapear on the 1st)

The people in London need to show some class right about now.

...and on that note, I'll fetch my clubs. tongue.gif

honestly I couldn't care less if he suspends himself in fishbowl of water for a month. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a natural performer and very good at what he does, (heck I even have his dvd!) but I think in hindsight he will see that these 'little nuisances' will only favour his cause for this latest publicity stunt of his.

I guess I must be missing something again. Is he trying to make a point? Protesting something? I would hardly call what he is doing "magic." Not even entertaining.

Ah, well. I confuse easy.

I agree..... what's the point?

People fast all the time, all over the world yet they don't want public recognition and praise for doing so?

It would be foolish to think that somebody wasn't going to do this at some point....

He's certainly got himself noticed, and I'm not referring to Blaine!

I still don't know what Blaine's trying to proove?

What david is doing is not ment to be entertaining but it a way of showing people how your body can be pushed further than what the scientists say, its that your mind is more powerful than your body. Poor man not only has he got the weight of not eating and isolation on his shoulders but he also has to endure yobs tormenting him. he is not hurting any1 only himself. Britain needs to take a good look at itself the way people are being is prejadice and that is against the law but it looks like we as britain dont go by the law. I am greatly ashamed that i live here
