Hugh Jackman, who currently plays the character Wolverine in the X men films, is so interested in the character that he woud like to help make a film based solely on Wolverine.

in my opion the wolverine has the best character bakground when you include the 'origin' comics of the X men series and would very much enjoy seeing this put into a film.

any thoughts? seeing as i thouroughly enoud both films so far and am looking forward to the third, i would love to see a film of this come out.

What !!!???, is Wolverins going solo !!!???, were did you hear this !!!???

It was obvious that there would be a solo Wolverine movie... The character is too popular for the studio to pass it up.

And fortunately Hugh Jackman does have a love for the character and would like to be apart of the movie, he is even working on it as a producer.

Len Wiseman, director of the Underworld movies was rumoured to have been aproached to do and recently Alexander Aja (The Hills Have Eyes remake) has expressed interest in directing it. It is rumoured to be a prequel to the X-Men films delving into his origin and Weapon X background.

There is also another spin off movie in the works about Magneto, which will be be about a younger Magneto, no other info about it has been released yet and will likely come after the Wolverine movie.

This is just my opinion and is not official but I expect that there will also be a New Mutants movie dealing with the students at the school. I think that down the line we may also get a different X-Men movie, about one of the other offshoot X-Teams such as Xtreme X-Men...

X-Men 3: The Last Stand is widely rumoured and thought to be the last movie in this franchise, at least for a few years. I am sure that if the studio doesn't plan on making anymore that in some years time they or another studio will start to make them again.

Any move that gets rid of Halle 'crybaby' Berry is fine by me
Super Pancake
They need to make JL movie.

I think its the appeal of Wolverine. Hugh Jackman bought alot of "Handsome Ruggardness" to the role, which is appealing to the majority of female viewers.
Hes got the whole lost soul thing going on.

I havnt seen the new movie yet, but i heard that they are following the Dark Phoenix storyline from the comics. The only thing that annoys me is the character of Rogue. Im a big fan of the comics, and Rogue was much more lively and high-spirited than in the movies. And what happened to Gambit? NOT ICEMAN. Geeez.

They are, however, including the character of Kitty Pryde to the new movie, i think.

Anyhow,
back on topic...

A Wolverine movie, aye? How would they pull it across without the other characters? It would be lacking something, in my opinion.

Then again, Hugh Jackman's biceps are so big, they need they're own movie anyway. happy.gif

I heard about this watching tv the other day and I found a short story about this.

Jackman: Wolverine Moves Ahead

NEW YORK—Hugh Jackman, who reprises his role as Logan/Wolverine in the upcoming sequel X-Men: The Last Stand, told SCI FI Wire that a second draft of the proposed Wolverine prequel movie has already been completed. Jackman would star in and co-produce the film, which would likely receive a quick green light from 20th Century Fox if The Last Stand proves successful.

"It's probably going to be a prequel to the movies that exist, and I've just seen—not just, but about three months ago I saw—the second draft that David Benioff [Troy] has done," Jackman said in an interview. "You probably know David. He's a huge fan of the franchise and probably one of the hottest writers in town, and so the lucky thing that I have is him as a partner on this and, for me playing Wolverine, that [they're the] A lists of the A lists, and there are a number of them that are passionate and want to work on it."

Jackman added: "So I think and they think that there is enough in this character to substantiate not just an appendage to the movie that exists, but an entity on its own. I don't want to make Wolverine be a kind of disguise for X-Men 4. I want to make it stylistically and character-wise as different as we can and show some new stuff. I play him, and I would [be expected to] say this, but I think that he is one of the most interesting characters in terms of action heroes and comic-book heroes around." X-Men: The Last Stand opens May 26. A Wolverine movie would likely begin production sometime in 2007.

man what would it be a documentary about the life and times of James "logan" howlett aka wolverine?

I think the first x-men movie told too much of the wolverine story for there to be a movie. besides seeing a movie about him as a cage fighter would be no more than a glorified rocky movie or yet another kickboxer type movie. like c'mon.

If there gonna waste there time making indiviual profile movies about rocky and bullwinkle i think it might just cheesify to the class of the legacy.

why not focus the potential time money and heartache on the introduction of Apocalypse into the series. Theres more than enough for a hell of a movie to see how f***ed things got as soon as he showed his ass in the series...

id way rather see that then some corny ass biopic...like c'mon it could seriosuly risk cheesifying his whole deal, as all them hollywood knobjobs always seem to do it to reasonable characters like elektra or DAREDEVIL, god those were hits .............................NOT.........

As a Wolverine fan, I would be highly interested if they made this film. I love the Weapon X story and think it would be awesome as a movie.
