Completely uninstall the game.... restart your comp and try again. Should work after that...if not your missing something needed to play the game.

Yeh tried that and then i kept getting error messages. So then i went and got it on xbox 360 and wow its amazing the map is soooo big i havent had much time to play it but yeh its amazing game.

oh, you explore the cd via 'my comp' and then install again - without uninstalling. its mentioned in the help on the disk, I had the same problem and that solved it for me.

just activate the body (should be a little pile of green crap) if your on the 360 its the A(green) button.

If you need it for a quest (Azura's Star) it's just as simple to buy it from a vendor too.

So I've been playing for the last couple of days with my chameleon skill at 125%, it's very sweet for getting through difficult dungeons. I also think it's time for me to put ol Martin Septim on the throne.... he's waited long enough (and I've closed 25 gates so far and am not coming across them anymore)....

haha, being a vamp is kinda sucky, you get burnt in the sun and people run away and refuse to sell you things if you havent drank in 3 days.

cool i got the glowdust now i'm killing the vampiers in the mine its really hard . Does anyone know if garlic will have an effect on them ?

you can buy sould gems from people in the mage guild that's how i got mine, good luck, that's just the beginning lol that's a lonnnnnngggg quest of findign things. lol

I got the three red lights indicating a hardware failure.... and if it doesn't give me the three red lights it either doesn't turn on the first time(the green power light comes on but no sound or video comes through) or freezes within a few minutes.... ....so I called Xbox support..... it's $157 to have it replaced (since in Canada they only replace, never repair)...I got a supervisor and got them to knock the price down to $117...hopefully the insurance on my credit card will cover it..... I'm still pissed at Microsoft though.....

I haven't been playing Oblivion much myself, but for a different reason, the game is so buggy and messed up right now, I can't play the game for more than 5 minutes without it crashing. So I'm pissed at besthesda right now. I'm waiting for a patch to download, because this is crazy, morrowind didn't crash nearly as much as this. oh well, I've just been playing my other games.

I almost did lose it..... when you start up Oblivion do it this way:

Turn on the machine and go to the dashboard.

Click on Play Game and hold A until you see the Bethesda logo...should clear the cache...this actually helped me out when it started doing it to me....

yeah, that used to work. I'm pretty fed up with this game, and its a shame, I was so close to finishing almost every quest.

Forgive me for not reading past the first 3 pages of this tread. I love Oblivion. It must be a special game to me if it is pulling me away from my main tanking duties for my guild in WoW.

If this idea has already been been posted ... sorry for wasting space.

I was wondering if one of you out there with the skills to mod could make some of the cryptids that we enjoy into the game world? More than a few times when running through some forests or snowy mountains, I wish I could catch a glimpse of a Bigfoot or a Yeti. Maybe even chase them down like those deer, but way harder to catch. Or loch/lake/ocean cryptids, or dinos, ancient alien sites with included aliens, ... this sure does seem like the game world for these sorts of things.

Back to the game when I should be sleeping... ::sigh::

That would be a pretty cool mod...but be damn difficult to create.... the construction set lets you place objects and landscapes but it doesn't give you a CAD program to create new objects or creatures.... (although you can modify some basic shapes to fit what your doing with existing structures, landscapes, etc.)...so in short...it could be done....is someone gonna take the time to do it for free?.... doubtful.

I havent been playing oblvion in a while I've been hooked on final fantasy 11, but i'll try and get on it soon!!

I've gone back to playing perfect dark, call of duty and ghost recon. oblivion is useless to me until they get a patch out, sigh....

I'm still waiting for my 360 to show back up...when it does I'm going to EB...buying the Nyko Intercooler and the Pelican Fan Stand....that should keep it pretty damn cool and keep Oblivion from freezing and lagging to much...... have you guys heard of those accessories?

I haven't been getting to play online as much as I'd like too, I have to go over to a friends house now because I got rid of my internet connection at home so I could play for other things, (buying a house). As for the accessories, I just saw them at best buy last night, no joke. My 360 is in a well vented area, so I really don't have a need.

YAY... got my 360 back this morning. With what happened to my other one I'm definitly getting the extra cooling...mine isn't exactly in the best place for ventilation

Does Oblivion give you plenty of character customization choices? Like, could I make a guy that looks next to identical to me, or does everyone have the "sameish" look in the game? Do they have curly hair on the game?

The character customization is amazing in this game... you can virtually create any face you want with time.... and there is curly hair as an option....

I haven't touched the game in a little while...just not the same on a 13" tv..... I still can't figure out why it's B&W on my 32"....we checked it on other larger tv's too and it worked there. I guess I got an excuse to go spend a thousand dollars!

While I never played Arena, I loved Daggerfall. If in Daggerfall the randomness of the missions is what made it great for you then Oblivion will disapoint. However, the game play is much better, the fighting is a bit less hack & slash and now there are a limited number of NPC's, not including gaurds, in the world. Quick travel has made it back in Oblivion, Morrowind was lacking, but the world is now totally great, I found myself amazed by some of the landscapes. In Morrowind and Oblivion nearly all the quests will be the same for your current ranking in the guild. For example, you will always have to dive in the well to complete the mages guild quest in Cheydinhal, I think thats the city. Overall Oblivion has been the cleanest gameplay and best graphics, but Daggerfall was much more replayable ,IMO, due to that fact that you never quite knew what quest you would be getting next for the guilds.

OMG...since I got the new 360 some of the save data on my hard drive is corrupted.... all the DL's I had in Oblivion aren't there right now... I think I may need to start a new game... after 46 levels and 130 hours.... yup...gotta start a new game

..and on top of that it displays B&W on my 32"...but it's in color on everything else(like my measily 13" back up)...and everything else is in color on my TV (cable, DVD's, etc.)... I just can't get a break when it comes to this machine.....

Mine works great now... the B & W thing doesn't bother me that much. I finally started playing again.... I didn't for awhile since the DL content was DL using my fiancees tag.... so when I got the box replaced the copyright laws only let her use it.... I ended up speaking with three people from Live and they didn't help...I just said screw it and paid for it again. Is anyone else going around completely invisible.....it makes missions sooooo easy

Anyone get the Mehrunes Razor DL?.... it's actually the best one so far as it doesn't guide you exactly where to go (I actually don't know what to do at this point and there are NO arrows telling me). For those that don't have it Mehrunes Razor is supposedly a powerful Daedric sword.... you have to fight through several levels basically against a Dothemir army... I'm at the doors to the Ayleid ruins but haven't got them open yet. The caves themselves look quite unique compared to the rest of the game... I'd recommend it!

Finally got some free time now (Schools out ) so I'm gonna start playing this again, still have lots of quests to do.

I haven't seen that download yet, Dando; I'll probably start getting them once I finish everything in the original game. How do they work? Do you get a quest hint that pops up after downloading it?
