You mean you beat every single quest and explored the whole continent 4 times already? blink.gif

How many hours you put into that game?
Ciraxis
I really haven't picked this game up, too busy with dead rising, madden and test drive.

So has anyone else been playing Oblivion much?...I haven't really picked it up since my 360 broke and I got it replaced.... the fact it comes in B & W on my big TV might have something to do with that though....

How did you get it replaced? Mine is starting to crap out on me. But yeah, its an awesome game but I haven't really been playing it since my Xbox360 continually freezes.

Call xbox support, if you live in Canada they completely replace your system (which I'm happy they did because the chrome CD tray had sticker crap all over it too). If you live in the US they fix the current one you have and ship it back... hope your still within warranty.

And get one of these...
Leviathan21
How did you contact them? Also, how long did it take for them to fix it and send it back to you? Thanks for your help.

1 800 4MY XBOX

What they do is send a courier box to you to send your system to them. From the point you send it it can take 2 - 4 weeks... mine was about three weeks.

Can you believe this... I decided to finish the main story line and closr the gates.... so I saved before entering the flooded grotto... so in all the excitement I don't save since and I get to Imperial City and just as I see you know who I pause and tell my brother in law to come see.... then unpause and what flashes over the screen?... Martin Septim has been slain.... the sad thing is the only other time I saved was when I paused to go tell him.... D'oh!
woody82
Shame, happened to me before, completed the main storyline myself all i have left to do is finish the figthers guild and go round the whole land finishing every quest in every town but at the moment i'm playing enchanted arms and not in the mood grin2.gif lol

So have you got past that bit then completing the main quest?

So did you end up getting it?.... if so, do you like it?

..and did you get the PC or 360 version?
Dando Kast
What a piss off, the next expansion is going to be a retail expansion and include all the previous downloadable content.... what a waste of money getting those things earlier....bad move by Bethesda I say. Especially since the PS3 version will have it all included anyways.... what a rip off angry.gif

By the way the expansion is called Knight of the Nine and adds a new faction and questlines. Apparently a lot of question about all the Ayleid ruins will be answered.
Ciraxis
they are pissing off a lot of fans, they suck now. i don't think i'll get their next game, they've gone to cheap on us. It would be one thing if the downloads were worth it, but they aren't. pc users can get all kinds of mods for free, and they are better ones than what beth is giving people, not only that, if you disconnect from live, the official mods aren't there. #$@$@$^@

Bethesda Softworks Announces The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles™ — Official Expansion for Oblivion
Spring Release Planned for Official Expansion for 2006 Game of the Year as Oblivion Sales Top Three Million Units

January 18, 2007 (Rockville, MD) — Bethesda Softworks, a ZeniMax Media company, today confirmed the upcoming release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles™, the official expansion for the award-winning The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion™. Shivering Isles will be released for Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows this Spring. Details are presented in the exclusive cover story for Official Xbox Magazine’s (US) February issue, which hits newsstands this week.

Shivering Isles features more than 30 hours of new gameplay and allows you to explore an entirely new plane of Oblivion – the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. Shivering Isles adds to the existing world of Oblivion so you can continue playing with your existing save game/character, or create an all new character just to explore the new content.

“We’re thrilled with the response that Oblivion has received to date and feel that Shivering Isles will offer a whole new and different experience to anyone who played and enjoyed Oblivion,” said Todd Howard, executive producer for The Elder Scrolls.

Within the Realm of Sheogorath, players can explore the two extreme sides of the god’s madness – the sublimely creative and the completely psychotic. Something is happening to the Shivering Isles and Sheogorath himself looks to you to be his champion and defend his realm and its inhabitants from destruction. Do you have the strength to survive his trials, tame a realm fraught with paranoia and despair, and wear the mantle of a God?

The Shivering Isles features a bizarre landscape split between the two sides – Mania and Dementia –filled with vast, twisting dungeons mirroring the roots of the trees they are buried within. You’ll encounter more than a dozen new creatures including hideous insects, Flesh Atronachs, skeletal Shambles, amphibious Grummites. Throughout your adventure, you will discover all new items, ingredients, spells, and more, and have the talented craftsmen of Crucible and Bliss forge new armor and weapons just for you.

“The enthusiastic response we’ve received to our downloadable content has been overwhelming, and we’re excited to bring Oblivion fans a full expansion,” said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. “The world we’ve created for Shivering Isles is unlike anything you’ve seen or played in Oblivion and we can’t wait for folks to play it.”

Released in March 2006 for Xbox 360™ videogame and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows, Oblivion sold more than three million units in 2006. Among the countless awards and accolades it has garnered to date are Game of the Year and RPG of the Year honors from numerous outlets, including Spike TV’s 2006 Video Game Awards, G4’s G-phoria, the Golden Joystick Awards, GameSpot.com, ShackNews.com, Voodoo Extreme, FiringSquad.com, and many more. Oblivion received the #1 ranking on PC Gamer’s (UK) list of the top 100 games of all time and is the highest rated Xbox 360 game of all time according to Gamerankings.com.
The Windows version of Shivering Isles will be available at retail and is co-published by Bethesda Softworks and 2K Games, while the Xbox 360 version is currently planned for release through Xbox Live online entertainment network by Bethesda Softworks.

faq

When will Shivering Isles be available?
Shivering Isles will be released world-wide the week of March 26th. The price will be $30, or 2400 Microsoft points.

Is it just for PC, or for Xbox 360 too?
Shivering Isles will be available for both Windows and Xbox 360. The Windows version will only be available in stores. The Xbox 360 version will be available for download via Xbox Live. A retail version is not possible for the 360 at this time. Both versions will be released simultaneously, worldwide.

Will localized versions be available?
Yes, it will be localized into French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

Is this just another gate to Oblivion like the ones in the main quest?
No. Oblivion is made of lots of planes, one for each Daedric Prince. Oblivion featured the fiery realm of Mehrunes Dagon. The Shivering Isles is the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. It’s a place unlike anything you’ve seen in Oblivion.

How big is Shivering Isles?
Shivering Isles is about the size Cyrodiil, where Oblivion takes place.

How many hours of gameplay should I expect?
About 30 hours of new content, including an all new main quest -- in addition to miscellaneous quests you can complete, lots of landscape to explore, dungeons to discover, etc.

Do I have to create a new character to play Shivering Isles?
Shivering Isles works with your existing save game/character from Oblivion, or you can start a new game of Oblivion and create a new character just for Shivering Isles.

Can I continue my quests in Oblivion once I start Shivering Isles?
You can go back and forth between Oblivion and Shivering Isles with your character whenever you like.

Will it be available for the PLAYSTATION3 system?
It is our intention to make it available for PLAYSTATION 3 this year, but no release date has been set.

Basically finished every quest except theive's guild. Guild and Main storyline quests are too quick. Makes me want to play Morrowind.

They should make a 360 remake of Morrowind, or at least have the backwards-compatible update for it. Because I think they took a chunk off of things from Morrowind. One is the number of quests and factions you could of join, second are the skills and spells and item diversity, third would be the non-level adjustment; Not having to fight creatures that are the same level as you where ever you go, or the same level range. Same thing with items and stuff. In Oblivion, the only way you can find Daedric and Glass stuff is when you achieve like a hella high level. In Morrowind, all you have to do is go find a Daedric temple or some town to find one.
Super Pancake
Yeah I know what you mean its crazy that I could be a level 45 warrior and some random bandit can come out and just own me. I don't know if you have the pc version but there are plenty of mods that adjust NPC levels and mods that let items level with you, also mods that add new guilds and guild quest, also mods that make the game play more like Morrowind.
Claizen
Nah, I only have it on the 360. haha
Claizen
Ah DAMN!!! I just looked at the Oblivion's homepage, and the expansion is ONLY AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD! >:( I dont have X-box live.. I guess I'll have to buy the games for computer then..
Super Pancake
Isn't silver free? I thought x-box live users can download stuff from the live market place as long they have the points to purchase stuff..
Raptor
^Yeah, they can. You only need to pay to get Xbox Live Gold which is what allows you to actually play online.

I don't know what you read Claizen, but they're selling the expansion pack in stores here in the UK. Click. I presume it's all on a disc. But I guess it could just be a token that allows you to download it from the marketplace, although I doubt it.

Raptor before you do anything silly the x-box 360 version is only available through the marketplace microsoft will not let the game be installed through dvd, they say it hard to do rolleyes.gif
Raptor
Thanks for the heads up. I didn't even realize that was only for the PC version. *sleepy.gif*

It's a stupid decision on their part, they'll lose quite a few sales by only allowing you to download it.

I dont know if you guys have mentioned it......but how do you get the daedric armor?Or was it the bound
Super Pancake
you know i honestly don't know where you would get such an armor, remember getting some of it and thinking it was ugly as hell, and also since at the time I specialize in light armor and stealth never cared about using it much.

From the deadria themselves, or - later on once you've leveled up a load - on robbers themselves.
woody82
Can't remember exactly how you get the deadric armour but its something like you have to be level 20 min for it to be able to be gained from one of the gates you have to go close. But the best armour i have is that what you gain when yo complete the main quest its the emprorers armour or was it dragon armour, not sure but thats what i use.

Your bestbet for the answer is from the official oblivion/elder scrolls forum they will help you.

I got the Shivering Isles add-on on sat an to be honest i think its sh**. No where near as good as knights of the nine or the original game. Its all a bit.... well trippy for me really(an i hate trippy), a bit alice in wonderland. On top of that the quests so far (admittently I'm only about 3 hours into it) seem to be angled towards being a bad guy (an i quite liked playing the good guy). The graphics on the new enemies, weapons and armor are grate like, but this doesn't seem enough to save it, for me at least. I'll keep playing a bit longer in the hope it gets better but disgust.gif
Super Pancake
Trippy! Your speaking of the environment right, it reminds me a bit of Morrowind.

Yeah, the enviroment and how everyone's mad as a fish. Thinking about it 'trippy' might be the wrong word - Like i said before its a bit Wizard of oz, Alice in wonder land, anyway its not really my thing. Never played Morrowind so i wouldn't know.
