Recently (several days ago) me and my bro' opened a website called "First Banner Museum" - http://www.firstbannermuseum.com/

We are doing research about banners (it's written on the website) and so decided to make such site - futhermore i haven't heard that such thing was ever made before.
Goals of the project: collect biggest banner collection, get some financial support for our internet projects and researches, provide users of First Banner Museum advertisement opportunities.

It would be nice if you comment. I am interested in anything you think about FirstBannerMuseum:
- how you like design
- idea itself
- functionality
- promotion methods we can use to promote project
- may be you have some advices how to improve project

please give your oppinion even if you say - "sh**!"

now we have also been reported of spam - guys took our articles (http://www.firstbannermuseum.com/articles.php) putting spam links in it and posting all over the internet.

p.s.: actually one thing that i'am dreaming about is making a production of carbon-fiber products in my country.

Thanx in advance

It's actually an interesting idea.
Good luck with it original.gif
May also give new designers some good ideas for their own site header/banner

An interesting idea and an attractively designed site, but I doubt many people will fork over $30.00 to put their banner ad there. I wouldn't. They would bascially be paying money for a site link that will not help their SEO much, if at all. People can get that, for free, in a millions of other sites. Why would they chose yours? (I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic.)

I would suggest you let banners on there for free (or at a much reduced rate) until you build up a good google site rank (at least) and make your money off of affiliate programs or sales of ebooks you write about banner design or marketing.

you are right, but all this is true only if site does not offer good advertisement services. First Banner Museum actually is going to offer. maybe i hurried to launch it too quickly but several uncompleted things will be done soon and potential customers would get exelent advetisement possibilities. for now only basic functions work so it's too early to dudge if advertisers would get what they wanted wink2.gif

And can I ask exactly how many people will visit the museum?

You've got to understand, things like 'The Million Dollar Homepage' got their creators rich, not only because people wanted to buy pixels, but because people wanted to see them. Basically your site is one big commercial dump, and no ones that interested in that.

Maybe bring down the price original.gif That will get some more buyers

He has some good articles about marketing. If he expands the information part of the site, people will be interested.

I'm waiting to see what his 'advertisement possiblities' are.
