Rykster
Neat pic, but not believing in ghosts myself, I would say,
  • Intentional fake
  • Accidental fake
  • Pareidolia

Well Rykster i'm all for the first 2 but i dont think it's Pareidolia ....i could be wrong but to me there an obvious uniform and face with helmet.....to me it looks like one of those reenactment guys that dress up for the fake battles.
I certainly wouldnt think it's real though no.gif

I've gone back for another look......he says it's definetely not a reenactor ....i'm not so sure myself .....but i'm convinced it's not Paraeidolia...anyone else ?

Yes, and by someone not all that familiar with military haircuts or uniforms then.

Yeah ...i thought that the helmet didn't look right but i dont know that much about civil war uniforms.....only what i saw in movies like gone with the wind and josey wales....i never saw a confederate wearing a helmet like that !
ArmyCombatEngineer
Looks like a Revo war soldier hat. Also I think if it was a ghost you would be able to see somewhat through the I could be wrong. Since I have only encountered ghosts and have not seen them.
Maybe someone was getting ready for a recreation and got caught on film.
Glacies
either an intentional or accidental fake, not seeing something that is not there, because that photo shows something, namely a person in what seems to be civil war clothing, and with the exception of the "lookslikeacivilwarsoldier" tree (which is only found in south africa, oddly enough...) nothing in nature could make that image.

Eh ? blink.gif

I'd like to see one of those trees ?

Really interesting pic,but there's something about it just doesn't feel right.Could it be because the photo is actually focused on...nothing?But the photographer says he/she's on a ghost-hunting trip so I guess it's normal to take photos of irrelevant and different spots.
But still there's something wrong with it hmm.gif

Same. Is it actually true that those trees exist or am I just slow on the joke? Coz it sounds pretty WEIRD for reality.

No worries about the topic. Haha, that tree is soooo weird. Thanks. original.gif
^SolidSnake^
Like someone said before it is possible it was someone working as a re-enactor that day having a cigarette break or something. But I am sure he'd of seen them, that or it is just a fake tongue.gif

Tell me about weirdness - a week ago I received an e-mail enclosed with a video clip that shows a lion whose roars supposedly sound like "allah".What's even weirder,people-muslims-around its cage actually repeat after the lion as it roars allah.
People will hear what they wanna hear, see what they wanna see and -tieing the subject to the original topic with a swift and clever move -that may also be the case here.If you went on a ghost-hunting trip at a civil war area and took random pictures in order to capture something weird...eh,I believe everyone can guess what that "weirdness" would look like thumbsup.gif

True. I think if you already have something in mind, you might see what you want to see because your mind is already biased towards that idea. It is pretty silly really. I usually try to avoid being bias and give myself rational explainations for things first. Wow, so did the lion's roar actually sound like allah? Hehe, it is a little weird if it did but I think people are overly obsessing about it. Maybe in the lion world, that voice is actually a rare disability. Lol

It has to be.I mean, come on,God doesn't need to try and prove his existence through an animal's roar or making a tree perform a ritual.

Anyway, here's a link of the video for curious minds original.gif

I agree yes.gif thumbsup.gif I mean if it was a fake why would someone stand there so ridged?! also staring into space and not even paying attention to anything around it. makes you think.
Hello78
Well, I believe it is real because Gettysburg, PA is well-known for haunting. The person that sent the photo, stated that there was no reenactors occurred during ghost hunting. That photo is very interesting.
Mookie
I think it's a fake, but that's just my personal opinion.
DeadRobot
I'm sorry but how does some corporial living human in some reinactment uniform standing behind a rock constitute as being a ghost?
*Is in dire need of enlightenment of where the paranormal comes into this photograph*
CosmosTheMouse

Sort of looks like someone from the group sorta walked off to take a leak to me.

I agree - why such a wide shot with the group (which would normally be in the center of the photo if they were the subject of the photo) way off to the right? It's as if it was deliberately shot to include the figure, posed off to the left. My guess is that it's added in, maybe clipped from elsewhere in Photoshop, cut and pasted in, and the pixels blended in with the scenery really well. It wouldn't be too hard to fake something like this, if one had time and patience to spend on the retouching. Now if this was a 35mm or 110 film shot with a negative on hand, I'd have to reconsider my opinion. Also, living in the Southeast U.S. and married to a Civil War nut, I can tell you that the uniform is NOT Civil War era. My husband thinks it looks like a costume from present-day. He agrees with the guy who said it was a re-enactor on a smoke break.
coldethyl
Yeah, I don't buy it either.
